Chris has been my favorite contestant this season since I saw him in his first audition. I knew he was going to manipulate the themes by using covers, and...it's smart for him. I like his version of 'I Walk The Line', and although it doesn't compare to Ed's. I still like it. Nowm hearing that Live is his favorite band makes me like him more:) I'm surprised this is getting so much publicity!

I can't believe I'm about to feed into this - I absolutely refuse to watch Idle - I mean Idol.
But the story made our papers in NY ... *this is dumb*IMHO*.

He just admitted his obsession with LIVE on the air... banana.gif

For some reason that makes me very excited, even though I'm not the hugest fan of his or anything.

His version of "What If" wasn't the greatest. That's actually one of the few Creed songs I actually still like.

Yeah his version wasn't very good. I also wasn't fond of him rolling his eyes like a 5 year old after Randy Jackson criticized his vocals. But giving props to LIVE was very cool.

I was really happy to see them mention that his version of I Walk the Line was Live's, I'm sure it was a response to the controversy. Unfortunately I wasn't impressed with his performance tonight either, but he has such a huge fan base that he won't have any problem making it through this week.

Did anyone see the new Rolling Stone? The April 6 issue with the American Idol judges on the cover ... on page 51 they have, "The Final Countdown" - a quick summary of each of the last 11 singers.

#2 Chris Daughtry
The token rocker in the competition, Daughtry, 26, has terrible taste in music but, as the Idol judges have noted, a perfect "recording voice". In late February, after he powered through Fuel's "Hemorrage," the grunge-lite band reportedly approached him about replacing singer Brett Scallions.
FIRST ALBUM HE BOUGHT: Live's Throwing Copper. "My all-time favorite band. I got into rock music when I was fourteen, which is right around when that album came out."
UPSIDE: The North Carolina native is the best male singer in the competition and the only contestant who already seems like a pro.
DOWNSIDE: Despite the angsty alt-rock tunes, Daughtry has yet to show much personality, either onstage or in his filmed interview clips.
PREDCITION: If he musters a bit of versatility, he'll make it to the final two.
