Um, he just did in 2008, why couldn't we get a repeat in 2009? Either way, I think the band could play the song without Popper.

Easily, Chad T did all of those parts on guitar beneath the harmonica, and remember God Don't Never Change? there he did them all himself as well, would be a piece of cake for them in concert smile.gif

Which also leads me to think..

did Chad T use the Dobro while recording this song? a pretty interesting guitar.. but with its 'non-standard' tuning it requires so varied techniques for playing

It is really good. It actually is a complex, well-done song. So much of their recent work just sounds like it was done in about five minutes. This actually sounds like it took them some time, they worked on it and crafted a great song. I would say it is their best song since TDTH and sounds like they finally got what they were trying to do on V correct. Took them a couple albums to get it right, but it paid off.

I might be the only one who isn't too fond of this song. It's alright, just not as impressed as I thought I'd be. I thought it was too predictable, nothing happens, no creativity, it doesn't go anywhere. You could put that 30 second sample on a loop 6 times, throw in some gospel singers shouting throughout some of it, and there you have the full length version. It could've been awesome if Ed would've let the choir sing without him for once, or if it slowed down somewhere to let the song breathe. Glad most people are digging it though.. but I'm curious.. what makes it complex?

It takes a couple listens. There are just so many things going on, so many layers. Sounds like each of the guys actually spent time working out their part. Whereas the some of the more recent songs sounded like EK was just like "Ok, now play this here..."

He is kinda correct... you can put the loop on and it does sound like the song. Most live songs are kinda like this though so I am not mad. Just everyone be excited that it is loud and not pussy anymore. nervous.gif

For songs like All I need and where do we go from here you could also see how non-creative they can be. This is going to be a great 2009!

I wouldn't mind a listen if someone was kind enough to send a link to me. Man, I've been reading as a guest for so long that it took quite awhile to remember my password to sign in to post! Thanks in advance!
