People tend to forget that Live have a few clunker songs pre-V. MJ, TC, SS, and TDTH all contain a couple of very skippable songs that, in my opinion, lack in comparision to the band's later work.

This 30 second clip is very promising, but you can't judge the song until we get the completed version in a few weeks.

Of course there are some skipable tracks pre V - Take my anthem, merica, top ... but it absolutely pales in comparison to the skipables post V which amounts to pretty much every second song.

Song sounds pretty baller. Hopefully it's not one of those awesome full of energy songs live and then sucks in the studio.

I'm confused though. So Purifier is a cover of God Don't Ever Change with extra lyrics? I don't see how the clip would fit into that song...

eh .. that is the studio version, they've never played it live.

I don't think it's a cover, they just reworked their version of God Dont Never Change with new lyrics. Just like Walk the line, Live's version of GDNG is heaps different to the original so this song is totally original (within reason) and isn't really a cover of GDNC with different lyrics.

Ahh I see. I just assumed since it was from LATP and was called Purifier (live) that it was a concert version. Cool cool then.

considering the guitar work/sound that you hear just before the 2nd verse sets in, there could be a kick-ass solo later in this song, i really hope so. But then again, Live doesn't care about (guitar) solos much these days.

yeah we thought this was the promise land, but the promise slipped away rockin.gif

so since 1998? nod.gif

well I don't know how exactly, but the 30seconds of the song reminded me little of Stil Aroused and Vine Street, although it's much different.

Yeah I doubt any of TDTH was written after 98, so it's been a decade. I agree it sounds somewhat like some of the songs that got cut from TDTH, which is probably why I like it so much.

Am I the only one that can't hear this clip from the amazon site? It just says "error loading". Wouldn't mind knowing what all this excitement is all about.
