I thought their self titled album from 2006 was excellent. Many people called it a "return to form" but I don't think they lowered the bar too much at any point (although I'm not overly fussed about Binaural).

I actually prefer Grunge to Alternative. Grunge has feeling, Soul, and is usually slower so I can accompany with a little blues harp.

Pearl Jam is hardly grunge to me, same with Nirvana. However, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, and King's X played the grungiest grunge. Ha, Firefox says "Grungiest" is a legitimate word. victory.gif

Must say I'm a huge fan of Pearl Jam, but I'm more a fan of their more art-rockish stuff. I love Riot Act and No Code, but Ten and Vs. are both good too.
