I'm really interested in hearing Purified since it features John Popper.

You and me both.

I thought about why I liked it last night, even whilst it's in the same poppy sappy vain as the much bashed SFBM album. It's because the lyrics are good, there's more melody to it, and it's just a step in that direction still....but it's done well. It's like if they wanted to make SFBM with the love them etc, sure, go ahead, but they should have done it like this.

EDIT - And the bridge is really good, when it gets a bit more angsty, and Ed's voice has a bit more rasp!

Yeah, the bridge is excellent. Unfortunately, I think Ed's voice is way off in the first part of it, but it is a killer bridge.

I don't think his voice is that off, perhaps a little under produced or subdued...but still good enough for me. And yeah, the bridge is super, best part of the song for me at the moment.

I like it quite a bit. It does have AC written all over it for marketing purposes.

Huge hit single!?!? You guys are insane! And I guess it's now the standard at Weddings/Proms too? C'mon, let's be real! It may stand out from SFBM in that it doesn't completely suck, but nothing makes this song stand out to an average person. It's an okay song. Factor in all our bias towards the band, and it's a below average song.

Everytime something new comes out, it's "wow this could be a huge single, just depends on how much money they put into it." And then when it doesn't become a huge single, "aww what the hell stupid record company." Ever think maybe these songs aren't that good? Sure record companies can get anything on radio if they put enough money behind it, but think maybe they hear these songs and go why the hell would we waste our money on this...?

If you like the song, that's great. I personally don't care for it and don't care if you like it or not. But if you honestly think this is going to be a radio hit for any reason other than old Live fans requesting a new Live song, then take off your Live goggles for a minute and realize that no, no it is not.

The only Live album that did not contain a hit single was SFBM. Birds of Pray and V had them. This song is a better than anything on all three of those albums by far. I emailed thiForever song to a few Hot A/C dj's who are also my friend, and they think this song would do well on the format. Have faith....

Saying that this song is better than anything on V is giving that album far too little credit, at least most of those songs had a shred of originality. Hell, BOP even had Like I Do which is the last great Live song I've heard.

I do agree this is better than almost all of SFBM, except Night of Nights.

I've gone through V and SFBM tonight after not listening to either for a while, and Forever is definitely a good track in comparison, but there are better ones on each. Even from SFBM, yeah, I really like Sofia and Show. BUT, the vocals in the bridge, seriously, that's a touch of the angst ridden Ed that we all know and love.
