Is it the quality of the uploaded track or does it sound like Ed is having trouble with the high notes?

Positives:

-Ed's voice sounds great, I like the way his vocals are produced as opposed to SFBM.
-This song should appeal to people who like Daughtry, so maybe they can get make some noise on the charts? Regardless of how we feel about the song I think we'd all agree we want the guys to be successful and to keep making music.

Negatives:

-This song should appeal to people who like Daughtry. It's seriously like a mix of U2 and Daughtry with Ed singing, I don't hear the usual distinctive Live things happening here which is sad. Even Gracey's drumming was still cool in parts of SFBM, but not here. I really think this could be any band playing behind Ed in this song.
-Why the $%#$%$# did I get excited?

It's not bad. Better than anything on SFBM but nothing to write home about. Thank god they posted this and shadowstorm will never get credit for anything other than being a huge crybaby. banana.gif banana.gif banana.gif banana.gif banana.gif

Its a really good song - I know people have different expectations but I personally think its a sign that they can still do it when they want to.

Thanks for the link - peace and love to all forever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Very well said. Being an Aussie I only know Daughtry from his vocals on Mystery but I'm hearing a bit of 00's Bon Jovi (not a good thing no.gif )

I do like Ed's vocals though, even if the lyrics are sadly worse than SFBM (which I wouldn't have thought possible), so corny they make me wanna vomit.gif

Damn babies, they've destroyed many a good songwriter... tongue.gif

i think the song is really nice and can see it being a radio hit. Women will lap it up and use it for their weddings. Leagues above the river.

and also remember, this isnt necessarily a sign of where their next studio album will take them.

Fully agreed.

I like the drums, I don't care if they aren't technical at all. It's like David Bowie "Five years" Anyone could play those drums but the song blows without them. I really like the way does the "troubled times" part in the song too.

Time to put it on repeat until I hate it. music.gif

I think it has radio potential. It's still their "new" lovey gay sound, but it sounds like they've discovered how to incorporate a little bit of the angst and passion of old into this sound for once. All in all, I have to say that I'm pretty impressed. It's not their best song or any indication of a return to their former genius, but it certainly isn't an embarrassment either. Very nice!

Very well put. I actually first thought of this a year ago when I heard Radiant Sea.

Wow, I don't want to give them too much praise for the song because it isn't that outstanding, but it's pretty awesome that Live still sorta has it. This is a pretty money track I think, without question their most radio friendly song since TDC, and for the first time in 7 years I think Live has a legit single out there with what should be a good DVD to go with it. This is 17 years after their MTV debut, and a really fucking long run. It's been interesting and hopefully it doesn't stop anytime soon, but I have to admit I am pretty excited that they actually have a good new song. If Purifier is good also and could be a legit second single, this could be a big deal for Live with a major tour and album next year.
