Nooooooo stop it stop it stop it! Don't say those things! Both songs are about abstract thoughts on death and souls and mystical teachings and such. They are!

alright, maybe I was a bit negative about which songs weren't included on the dvd, but the songs that are on it are actually quite good (for example, I'm really lookin forward to see I walk the Line, Operation Spirit, Mirror Song and even Overcome (that was one of the best performances of the song I heard, Ed was exteremly good by voice) on the DVD.

But if they really want to please the fans, they should have chosen (depending on what was played 30june/1juli, and still keep it with 17 tracks)

this:

QUOTE

1. Simple Creed
2. All Over You
3. Mirror Song
4. Waitress
5. Dolphins Cry, The
6. I Walk the Line
7. Selling the Drama
8. They Stood Up For Love
9. Lightning Crashes
10. Iris
11. Shit Towne
12. I Alone
13. Heaven
14. Lakini's Juice
15. Overcome
16. Operation Spirit
17. White, Discussion

in stead of what has been chosen now:
QUOTE

1. Simple Creed
2. All Over You
3. Mirror Song
4. River, The
5. Dolphins Cry, The
6. I Walk the Line
7. Selling the Drama
8. They Stood Up For Love
9. Lightning Crashes
10. Turn My Head
11. Wings
12. I Alone
13. Heaven
14. Lakini's Juice
15. Overcome
16. Operation Spirit
17. Dance With You

I can't believe they only include 3 songs of TC on their first live dvd ever, whearas they played 8 (or more) in the shows

Seems like a pretty UNconscious effort to forget how awesome that album was. Unless there were grave recording problems with those tracks, which would be highly unusual given their order in the setlist, chalk it up to another case of Live trying desperately to not be defined only by that album. Putting songs on there like The River, Dance With You and Wings instead of Iris, Shit Towne and White Discussion is fucking criminal.

Actually I feel it is a fair representation of all albums(with a heavier focus on Live's were popular albums:

DVD has:
4 from Throwing Copper
3 from TDTH
2 from Secret Samahdi
2 from Mental Jewelery
2 from SFBM
1 from BOP
2 from V
1 from Awake

CD has:

4 from Throwing Copper
2 from TDTH
2 from Secret Samadhi
1 from Mental Jewlery
1 from BOP
1 from SFBM
1 from V
1 from Awake

All the hits were included and it is a very solid set. 2 new songs on the CD is a very nice touch as well. Not to mention the DVD behind the scene extras. This seems like a pretty cool package for fans of the band.

I was thinking, especially when Ex was talking about some songs maybe left out of technical diff., how much songs can you put on a dvd? Would that have been the problem maybe, so they had to choose?
I don't know much about compact discs and dvd;s in general, but I guess you could have put 20 or 21 songs on the cd, and how much on the dvd....? there are movie dvds with a movie that has a length of 3 hours=180 minutes. So each performed song (let's say) 4 minutes, . 180/4= 45songs! Or doesn't it work like that? And by that, we must realise that they indeed will include some extra's on it, but that won't be half of the dvd's space, I guess.

CDs can hold up to 79 minutes of audio.

A dual layer DVD can hold 2 hours at the maximum bit rate, but if you were lower the bit rate of the video then you could fit 3 hours onto a disc.

I'm very, very disappointed that White, Discussion was omitted. sad.gif

Depending on who you talk to, a typical CD master (redbook standard) can hold between 74-79 mins of audio.

I'm not a video expert, so I might be slightly off on this part.. but from my understanding, DVD standards are all over the map. It really depends on what they've done to author the thing and what type of disc they've used and what audio/video specs they've chosen to use. From what I understand though, most commercial DVDs can hold about 4 hours of video on a dual-layer disc. If it's a single-layer disc they're using, it could be just 2 hours of available space and some of that is probably taken up with menus/behind the scenes etc.

They more than likely meant "forever" and just forgot the r.

Yup. The correct name of the new song is "Forever".

Also, the release is pushed back a little to early November. Date still TBD.

Oh well at least its not delayed for like five years as was sfbm.

I have to admit I too am BAFFLED by the setlist choices, I mean why play White, discussion and TDAOC and waitress and RTTW and not include them - especially WD and TDAOC w/megaphone.

I guess LIVE'S logic might be you can't please everybody all of the time??? shrug.gif

Or maybe they will save those other songs for a future release, lets not forget WD was already released in DVD format on the BOP special edition....maybe thats why???

god no White Discussion, Iris, Waitress or Sofia (best of the new songs in concert) ... what the hell?? I really don't want to keep bagging everything that live does, I really, REALLY want to just get behind my former favorite band again and go "yeah this kicks ass!", but god they're making it really difficult sad.gif

Really, really disappointed by the choices...Like if they think they can win new fans with this release. They know it wouldn't please the hardcore fans that we are...From what I've heard, the performance was great, so why dont' they include everything if possible. Other bands did it in 1 DVD I think.

No WD, No Iris, No TDAOC. That is what I wanted to see. Will still buy it, but Live is getting further and further in my band'S appreciation.

QUOTE(Plive @ Oct 7 2008, 2:11 pm) *

Same tracklist at cduniverse. ..the two last tracks on cd 1 is Foreve and Purifier
http://www.cduniverse.com/productinfo.asp?...&cart=782790044

I wish they would have had more, and added more of my favorite songs like White, Discussion, but I think it's a good setlist representing a solid concert. Can't wait to buy it.

It's also cool that, just like on Radiant Sea, they have two new songs we've never heard of before. I'd guess they're from the BOP / SFBM era since Radiant Sea and Beautiful Invisible were from the V era.
