Vista takes up way too much of my processing power. I made it efficient. Just like IE and Opera take up way too much browser room.

laugh.gif I know it's horribly off topic but the topic is dead and now Live fans have nothing to do until their band announces something!

Live used to be a really brilliant band. It's too bad their singer thinks he's the next Bono meets Mr. Rogers, and their guitarist thinks he's fucking Oliver Stone. Maybe if they turned their brains on for the first time this millennium, they could redeem themselves.

i think they actually need to turn their brains off. too much thinking, not enough feeling. Why does ed need to intellectualize (im sure thats a word) everything? In interviews he's so articulate and makes the music out to be very deep - " The lyric personified as the female spirit", yet when it comes down to actually spinning the cd, all you get is fluff. SHOW us the depth, ed, dont tell us!

Gotta come to Chad's defense here. He's become a producer to help contribute to the local creative art scene that has really begun to blossom in Lancaster, PA (where he lives). He's also producing other local bands and has a studio in town so he's really giving back to the community.

I don't know what Ed does in his off time since he chose to move out west but at least Chad still lives within 20-30 miles of his roots.

You could possibly make a good argument that the band went significantly downhill after Ed moved out to LA (Chad and Ed used to live really close to eachother) and began writing the music and lyrics for everything Live does, not to mention not having a strong producer on the last 3 albums (I've made that argument before).

I don't doubt that Chad's intentions are good, and perhaps his efforts are contributing to the local scene there in Lancaster which I wasn't aware of, but still, it's frustrating that they put such little effort into Live anymore.

I completely agree with you that the band began to go to hell when Ed moved to California, and maybe the rest of the guys realize that without his devotion to the band, there's no point in devoting themselves. It's a shame, really. For such honest and nice people, they really were pretty badly corrupted in a strange way by the money and fame.

Out of interest, how were Gracey and Pat corrupted by money and fame? In ALL videos, from 1994 to 2007, they seem to be the same, mellow, steady away (and therefore pretty underrated) rockers they've always been.

Hehe no I don't see their money or fame drift either. But I don't think Ex. was pointing at them so much

I think you have a point there: a strong producer! I know that people go like: "it only effects their sound a little, it's them making the music, not the producer!" when you talk about it. But I think a GOOD and STRONg producer can really play a role when producing bands that lost theirselves or lost their roots (I'm not stating that Live has lost it, but allright). A producer that kicks bandmembers ass and says: "stay focussed! Look at this! Don't stop till it's perfect", can make a difference. For example, Rick Rubin forced Metallica by recording the recent album to listen to their first 4 albums. The result was their best album (in my opinion) in the last 15-20 years. But ofcourse, it's the bands descision to choose a producer that really effects the record, or just walks in now and than and just produces it a little.

So, go into the studio and listen to your 4 albums made in 1991-1999 including b-sides!

What does that say about a band when all their success is behind them? I'd find it really depressing if I were a band with a greatests hits cd released. I can only think of 3 bands that did decently for new stuff after the greatest hits.

Oh yeah, the new metallica album sucks to top it off. If you don't believe me, listen to the unforgiven, Unforgiven II and then Unforgiven III and you tell me what I should expect.
