You know what I think? I think that if Live promotes the hell out of Lift Me Up, then it could do fairly well.

The U.S. radio is full of shit, yes, in fact the radio here is possibly the worst it has ever been, but nearly as many people who like the shit now like older stuff. Who knows, maybe Lift Me Up could help get the radio out of the disgusting state it is in.

I think it's a great song, the majority of my friends do, and when my band covers it, the audience loves it, even though we throw in more fancy guitar work than the normal version.

I don't know if it would actually become a hit. In fact I doubt it. But it could become a bigger hit than the River. I hope it could.

Here's an official statement by Live about the song:

LIVE song featured in upcoming movie

LIVE’s previously unreleased song entitled “Hold Me Up” will be featured in Kevin Smith's upcoming movie, Zack and Miri Make a Porno. The movie opens in theatres on October 31st. Although this song will be featured in the movie, it will not be included as part of the movie’s soundtrack.

I'm assuming that it means it will be released by Live on the upcoming album. If not they're being weird or they're not allowed to for legal reasons.
