I dont get all the talk of this being a sub-par/ bad single.

This is a very pessimistic community. I think all of us that talk down are either thinking:

1. After the last couple albums I don't wanna get my hopes up (Rationality Argument)

2. I kinda like Live being the band that only I like. If it gets popular again then what originality do I have? (Indie Argument)

3. Live's time has passed but then again so has mine... (Old Bogie Argument)

I like to believe that rationality can work alongside a plucky disposition. Whilst I don't think it would set the charts alight if released, it's still a good bit of exposure for the guys.

It's a better than average Live tune and better than any song they've released in over 10 years.

As for you Hoodstock? You know nothing about music. You call out an entire post about how our opinions mean nothing, yet excentuate yours like it is the word of Jesus. Like you know something and we don't....funny thing is, that's precisely what I find hilarious. You've proven you know nothing about music, that's FACT. Ignore it all you want.

4. To help some people out obviously 1 and 2 are opinions so you don't need to discredit them by using your contradictory opinion as fact.

5. It's fine to disagree with anyone but that's not the point. There always has to be the "you are wrong / I am write" attack here. It's tired and redundant - but it keeps some people going I guess.

But if you think that Lift Me Up is an average song that cannot be a hit, then what kind of music you think Live should be producing for commercial success? On the one hand you and others stress that Live should return to the raw and energetic sound ala TC or SS, and on the other hand you chatacterize Lift Me Up as an average song. I have no knowledge in music but most listeners don't anyway. In my opinion Lift Me Up is fantastic and it will be a hit, if not in the US certainly in Europe and Australia, and possibly in Canada.

I think that you don’t remember well. Go back to the forum threads and you will see that Lift Me Up is the most popular and most wanted unreleased song among Live fans.

Yes I do think Live should. I don't think this song does it. I'm glad you do. Again, it's not bad, it's just not a single. That is complete "fan boy" talk. If you don't believe me then let it get released and radio play will determine.

Just to clarify not I'm pessimistic about the band. I'm excited about Live releasing new material and also the upcoming album. Hell, I'm one of the few that thought SFBM was descent to an extent. I love the both songs off of Radiant Sea!

I think they have been getting more mellow with BOP and SFBM and I personally would like them to take a more energetic approach with their next full album.

I like Lift Me Up and hope they release that and more!!!! I just don't hear a single in that song.

I will buy the next album and any after that.

You COMPLETELY discredited yourself when you argued incessantly about THE RIVER being a good song and single material. That's your opinion about that song, fine.

Not to be ignorant here, but any intelligent, educated human being can see as plain as day that the song was poorly written, composed, performed, over produced and just flat out bad. You want to talk about a lack of chord progression and overall musical structure? Wow, you're just simply unbelieveable.

Yikes, that's a scary thought. They could over-produce it into an adult contemporary radio "single" (ala Songs Of Black Mountain) and then we may not even notice it in the movie over the background noise.

My hope is that they don't re-record a single note and use it as it was recorded in 1993 (presuming it was truly a Throwing Copper outtake).

Lots of shit they could be playing. Instead, they play loser ass bullshit like The River. Jesus, even bring back older songs they used to play in concert like Susquehanna, songs that rock at least.

Get rid of all the new shit, forget it exists and start the fuck over. Replace em all in concert with songs like Susquehanna, God Don't never change and even some other covers they've done like Running to stand still and a few others.
