I don't think Merica belongs but I can see Face and Ghost so I'll mention it. Definately not a huge fan. I consider it a "skip it" track.

And isnt that in the end what this thread is really about? Its not about talking down about the band... its not really about the band at all, but about our preferences as fans?

is it not a testament in some way to the band, that we, as fans, can't even agree on the "worst"?

I've always liked Merica. I can see how it could be deemed a bit out of place on the record, but I like it. Definitely not a "duffer" for me, anyway. Face and Ghost isn't my favourite track, but it's not a bad.

Merica is a bit of a nothing song for me, I don't hate it, but to be honest I usually forget it even exists..

Face and Ghost is in my top few live songs, I absolutely love it, the slide guitar, ed's "tra la la"'ing actually fits the song, the lyrics are gorgeous .. I love the line "its the face of one ravaged by love, it's both dead and alive" ... why the hell has he stopped being able to write like that??

I agree completely. Absolutely gorgeous, well written song. No surprise the hood sucker doesn't like it. Makes total sense.
