I have to agree with you guys. Saturday night's show was insanely overcrowded. I saw Alter Bridge at Starland back in October and it wasn't as bad as the other night's capacity was. There were a lot of people at the Alter Bridge concert, but not too many where you couldn't move around and not get a beer.

My ears are still ringing! Live was full of soo much emotion and intensity. It was cool how they were able to play whatever they wanted without having to promote a new album(this is the first time they've been on tour w/o promoting a new record right?). Though, the set list has become pretty basic and outplayed by now, I understand.

I was at the show with my cousin and we were standing towards the middle-right in front of Chad Taylor and Adam Kowalczyk. I'm glad Live are still around and kicking. This concert will be a great memory for me to remember and look back on.

Did anybody manage to get some pictures of the show? I had called the Starland office about a week before the show and asked them about photography and told me that digital cameras were not allowed or something, so I bailed on the idea of bringing one. Once I was there, I saw a ton of people with them and taking pics of the band during the performance. Arghh.

Wow - I lucked out and had the exact opposite experience as you guys did.

We purchased the "StarParking" thing and got there around 6:30, which put us around 4oth in the VIP line. Glad we did that, as we were able to walk in, grab a few beers and walk directly to the front of the stage, right behind the people who were leaning on the barrier. I think I was actually standing behind the guy named Todd someone referred to - as I met a guy named that who was standing right up front - he said that he had something to do with the band.

Anyway, we held our ground (with the help of some other big guys standing just to our right) and me, my friend and our wives were able to stand virtually at center stage for the entire evening.

Glad we did, too - because about 20 minutes after we settled into our spot I turned around and could tell that utter chaos was breaking loose behind us. I apologized to some very short girl behind me for being such an eclipse (I'm 6'3", 220 lbs.) - but what could I do, tell her to go in front of me and my wife?!?

Anyway, great show. Loved the opening band a lot more than I had any right to expect that I would. We were hoping for "Shittown", but "Operation Spirit" as a replacement was pretty cool. Only other disappointment was the show ending on "Lightning Crashes", which was very good despite the fact that I could've done without it. Was hoping for "White, Discussion" to end things, but it's a minor gripe because everything else was great. Highlights for me were "I Alone," "Stood Up For Love," "Dolphins Cry," and "Voodoo Lady." If it were my setlist I'd drop "River," which is just an awful song IMO.

Great time - I'd do it all again exactly the same way. Oh - and this was the first time we've ever seen Live, despite the fact that we've been big fans since college in the early 90s. Even worse, we missed out on seeing our friends' band open for Live right around New Years of '92. We had booked a trip to Hawaii months earlier, so we missed out on a great night in Genetti's in Wilkes-Barre, PA. Oh well - better late than never, eh?

Starland says that they will begin to announce their fall tour dates on August 4th. That is one day after Live performs at Toms River Fest, and it makes me wonder if Live will be returning to the venue this Sept/October? If so, I desperately hope the crowd is better maintained.

They could be announcing Lifehouse, Gavin Degraw, or Collective Soul instead, but Live always sells the venue well and they are a distict possibility. My wife has already told me there is no chance in hell of her stepping into that deathtrap again. smile.gif

Ah what the hell, I'd probably go back to Starland again....I also hope they play @ MusicFest in Cranford this September like they did last year.
