Yeah I gotcha and I agree. But, it still sounds pretty good I think.

I definitely agree. I also think there's a bit of confusion here because half the people are talking about the crappy live version that exists (and it really is CRAPPY), and half are talking about the studio version, which is as good quality-wise as any other outtake that exists (I mean, people would be salivating if they heard it!).

it does indeed exist. track time = 3:20.

i like the version on V better, to be honest. the full band doesn't really do it for me.

One of the reasons why I'm interested in having these rare demos/alternate versions available to everyone is because I'm intrigued by the lyric changes that occur in some of the songs.

For those who haven't heard them, almost all of the tracks have small lyrical differences from the album versions (with the exception of They Stood Up for Love, which is so different lyrically that's almost an entirely different song).

I sense that the album-version lyrics must have been finalized near the recordings for the album, since the demos/outtakes have a relatively polished feel to them.

It would be interesting to discuss why these lyrics changes occurred. For example, why did "Where Fishes Go" change from "He showed me up like some dime store mystic / It was plain to see" (demo version) to "He showed me up like some dime store hooker" (album version)?

Yeah, I enjoy it purely to see the evolution of some songs and of the album itself. Adding to the TSUFL and WFG comments, Sun in its early stages was almost an entirely different song as well. Hopefully one day we'll get to put it all together and maybe get the band to answer some of these questions.
