It's a Shinedown thread in a LIVE forum, in which fans of both bands are posting. Comparisons will be made.

Also, I too am listening to the album OVER AND OVER. Shinedown are so fucking good. kicking.gif

God I can't pick a favourite track. Devour melts my face off, Sound of Madness is so AWESOME, Second Chance/What a Shame/Call me are all amazing (Call Me is a fuckign beautiful composition), Crow and the Butterfly has such a fucktasticly classy solo. It's impossible to pick a favourite.

I think the new line up rocks hard, though I'll always miss Jasin and Brad.

I pre-ordered the Limited Edition CD, though I don't have it yet. Amazon.co.uk was going to have me get it by like 14th July at the earliest, so a member of the Shinedown forums is helping me out. And another one also gave me a ShinedownNation code, as they had two CDs. I'm on the ShinedownNation forums as "raymond", what's your name?

GO SHINEDOWN!!!! victory.gif

I am on the forum as mollie...see you there!

I miss Jasin and Brad too but I am amazed at how the band has not skipped a beat with their sound, lyrics and such. It helps that Zach toured with them for so long.

I love sin with a grin, in fact that is my my space name as of late... LOL.....Now, if they would only get to Portland, I would be really sinning while grinning!

I must admit, that's still possibly my all time favourite Shinedown track. Have you bought the CD, Ed?

Shamefully, I sometimes forget how good Leave a Whisper really is. Then I blast it back on and fall right back in love with it. The acoustic version of Save Me is a treat, yeah. As is the acoustic of I Dare You and Someday. I love Someday, it's a great song.

Also, you might like this if you like Save Me in acoustic form: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=LdJWVgXJ8HI - it's Brent performing with Tony Battaglia on guitar. The quality isn't the best at times and it annoyingly skips bits - but FUCK - listen to those vocals.

And I still haven't got my physical CD. Working on it! tongue.gif

Did you know that Nick Perri, the new guitarist, is from Silvertide????

I saw Silvertide open for Motley Crue on the carnival of sins tour, along with 311 and the Exies....The opening bands were so much better than the Crue!!!!

I am going old school as of late when buying music. I need to physical cd for some reason and this one is not a disappointment. I love the simplicity of the flying birds on the cover. I didnt get the signed copy since I preordered too late, but that doesnt fash me in the least. smile.gif

I did know that yeah. Perri is a BEAST on the guitar, a total class act. And I won't be getting a signed cover, but I'm okay with that. When they come to England....I'll meet them, even if I have to break into their bus.

Why can't you just enjoy the CD and not compare it to Live? Shinedown is a totally different band than Live is.

"Hello Pot? This is the Kettle. You're Black." This from a man who compares every single thing any other band DOES to Live.

Sorry for that! Anyway! The Sound of Madness is one of the greatest cd's from start to end I've heard in a long time. I love "Call Me", "Second Chance" "The Sound Of Madness" "IF You Only Knew", "The Crow & The Butterfly"... all among my favorites!

Its ok, Mollie, I know exactly where you were coming from. This is the kind of CD I expect out of bands I love. One that knocks your socks off, one that impresses the shit out of you, one that you can't stop talking about and you certainly can't stop listening to because its that awesome. I remember those days for another band that shall remain nameless.

Thanks, JennyFoo!

This cd gets better with every spin and when I go back and listen to their first cds, I see a positive progression and maturity that I used to see and long to hear again from a band that I shall not name for the sake of not getting others panties in a twist.

This cd, while it may lack to artistic 'pushing the envelope' of say NIN "The Fragile", it is one that I appreciate more and more. Along with the humble band members.

back to the spinning with a grin...

It seems like there are alot of losses and goodbyes and second chances in the songs on the cd... lots of sad and angry emotion went into it and definitely shows when you listen to it. I wonder if all of that stems back to losing members? I know bands dont talk about that personal stuff that goes on between them, and we are better off not knowing it all anyway. But, i was glad to see that Brett thanks Jasin Todd in the liner notes. I know we're lucky when a band can over come that stuff and still make great music. It has to be hard for them to start over.
