I'd disagree, despite the fact we have all heard the Radiant Sea stuff before, it was still the first "official" live release by LIVE. I just think it was a seperate thought, like "We are going to be doing this and this, but also have our first live CD." Could be wrong, but the way he describing RS is exactly how it was marketed, "a live cd with a couple new songs."

Radiant Sea was never marketed as Live's first offical live cd. It was a bootleg rarity collection with 2 new songs. Also, after mentioning the CD, he also said that it was the next project that they would be working on.

I believe Radiant Sea is Live's first official live cd, given the amount and sequence of live material, and the fact that it is released by the band and sold on FOL.

Exact Quote from Ed:

We're making our first live DVD concert filming at the end of the year in Holland, look for that late this year/early next year. Along with officially our first live record with some new songs on it. So that's our NEXT project.

It sounds like they will be releasing the Paradiso concert on both CD/DVD with some new studio and/or live tracks on it. Ed definitely isn't talking about Radiant Sea.

I've always said Live should record some of their new material in concert rather than in studio! rockin.gif I'm really anticipating this album!

no no, he said: at the end of june in Holland, not the end of the year (cuz that's when it's possibly released).

Btw Hoodstock, I don't know if we can count on live recorded new songs. Maybe it's just like RS: a cd full of live songs + some studio songs.

If late June holds as the recording date, it might be too soon to record new material. It seems they probably would want to test songs several times in advance live before recording.

Or they'll ship Radiant Sea with the DVD; and the RS/DVD thing *is* the next project.,,

I just heard a quote from Ed from one of their radio shows I have (I think 2003ish) where he alludes to putting together a rarities CD of live songs not all from the same concert and adding a few new items. The idea for the Radiant Sea album was in his head for years.

Whether or not they want to claim it, RS is an official release from the band. I don't get their claim on why it's not an album. It's not a bootleg because they released it.

They don't want to consider it an album because it's a cocksucking embarrassment. The two outtakes are catchy but not nearly as good as Live's other outtakes, and the concert tracks are not only not good but they'd already been formally released.

Live believes the fans are idiots. I hate to say it but not all of us are fanboys like Nick who will bend over to whatever Live puts out. They've been a joke for the last 4-5 years and will continue to be one until they prove otherwise. banana.gif
