I saw Rush last night... It was interesting?

For anyone who hasn't seen Rush recently, They sound awesome but they cannot perform at all. After Watching Live for too long I come to expect crowd interaction. Rush feels that instead of that, we need stupid videos with bad audio uhoh.gif Also, at one point a giant dancing chicken came out for some reason.

YYZ and Natural Science sounded incredible and the Drum Solo was pretty awesome. They are NO Van Halen though... Grizz makes them seem bigger than they are.

I'm guessing it'll be close to last year's price. One of my friends waited until the last minute last year and bought someone else's ticket for half price.

Did you go last year?

Edit: Full lineup just announced today:

alphabetical order, Bloc Party, Cat Power, Chuck Berry
and The Silver Beats, Citizen Cope, Duffy, Foo
Fighters, Gogol Bordello, Jack Johnson, KT Tunstall,
Lupe Fiasco, The Offspring, Paramore, Rodrigo y
Gabriela, Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings, The Swell
Season and Wilco.

On Sunday, Aug. 10, the Main Stage acts will include
Andrew Bird's Bowl of Fire, The Black Keys, Black
Rebel Motorcycle Club, Bob Dylan, The Go! Team, Iggy &
The Stooges, Kanye West, Lil Wayne, Nine Inch Nails,
She & Him, Shudder to Think, Stone Temple Pilots and
Taking Back Sunday.

Dance Tent acts on Saturday, Aug. 9 include, in

Saw the Cure yesterday in concert and they kicked ass. I've seen them once before, but it was at a festival, so they couldn't play for that long. But yesterday they played for 3 hours with 3 encores. Lots of bands don't even play for half that time. They really put most other bands to shame. Robert seemed like he was having fun too. He was dancing on a lot of the songs lol.gif . Last time I saw him, he hardly moved around. Great set they played. Only song they didn't play that I wish they had was A Letter To Elise.

Mainset:
plainsong
prayers for rain
a strange day
alt.end
the walk
the end of the world
lovesong
to wish impossible things
pictures of you
lullaby
the perfect boy
from the edge of the deep green sea
hot hot hot
the only one
push
friday i'm in love
inbetween days
just like heaven
primary
shake dog shake
never enough
wrong number
one hundred years
disintegration

Encore 1:
at night
m
play for today
a forest

Encore 2:
the lovecats
let's go to bed
freak show
close to me
why can't i be you?

Encore 3:
boys don't cry
jumping someone else's train
grinding halt
10:15 saturday night
killing an arab

Glad you enjoyed the show. A 3 hour concert would be way too long for me. I must have some form of ADD.

I saw Seether, Flyleaf and Red on Thursday night.

It was an insane crowd and somehow I survived. innocent.gif Red was pretty cool! I never heard of them, but they were really good. Flyleaf kicked ass, but since I don't know any of their songs, it was hard to hear the words she was singing. Her voice was amazing!

I am in love with Seether...or is it just Shawn Morgan? blush.gif They were amazing!! They started the show with a slightly see through curtain in front of the stage. All of their mic stands and the entire drum kit was surrounded by white Christmas lights. It was neat to see it through the curtain. They started with the song Jesus Christ off the latest CD. I love that song...starts off kind of slow, great guitar in there, and then when they get to the chorus...which ROCKS, the curtain came down. It was amazing. smile.gif Rise Above This, which I love, didn't get much of a response from fans. Rob described it as kind of pop sounding. The hightlight to me, besides the opener, was Gasoline. I just love it. It totally rocked and I wouldn't have cared if the mosh pit swept me away at that point. innocent.gif They did Broken with just an accoustic guitar and Shawn standing at the mic. It was great. They did all their hits and a few songs off of Finding Beauty in Negative Spaces. They closed the show with a killer version of Remedy...no encore. We parked by the tour buses (not on purpose) and on our walk back to the car, I saw the drummer from Seether. He signed my ticket and was super nice. He was signing and snapping pictures for all the fans that were out there. Pretty cool guy. I missed Shawn though...next time. wink.gif

They are playing the House of Blues in AC in July...I want to go!!! smile.gif

Yeah, Red was great! smile.gif I would check them out again definately.

Shawn was amazing, but he seriously could have just stood there playing his guitar and I would have been fine. innocent.gif Just a tad bit of a crush on him. wink.gif

I'm seeing Crue Fest in July! YOU, on the other hand, are seeing them on my birthday!!! You lucky girl!!! lol.gif

I'll be seeing STP this Sunday at the WMMR-B-Q. They are playing with a bunch of other bands.
I can't wait. smile.gif

I'll be seeing Radiohead for the very first time in August. Hoping to score tickets to hit up Tool in July.

If LIVE/CS come back, I'll sure as hell go, maybe even stay for LIVE as well!

I have no concerts planned for this year. However, should Live, Shinedown, Seether or Breaking Benjamin come to the UK....I may change that.

I'm seeing Pearl Jam (with Kings of Leon opening for them!) in Columbia, SC, June 16th, then, 5 days later I see R.E.M. with Modest Mouse and I forget who else here in Atl, GA. And I plan to see the Live, Collective Soul, Blues Traveler concert in August here in Atl. Is Live headlining the show?
