How come when I go to the venue site, Live isn't even mentioned? shrug.gif

I can't wait for this show. Only about 1/2 hour from my house.

Crazy that I listen to Live for nearly two decades without ever seeing them in person once.

Now I'll see them in two great, intimate venues within a two month span. Starland Ballroom being the other time.

No - never been there. Most of the acts aren't really my cup of tea - lotta' has-been hair bands and old-people's music. I wanted to go and see BigBadVoodooDaddy there a few years ago, but couldn't make it.

This'll be a good time. Two shows in less than two months. Crazy.

Who's going to this show? The more I talk to people, the more people say "it's mother's day. can't make it". Don't people lie to their moms anymore??? WTF!

I have 3 extra tickets and they're free ... who wants 'em?

I'll be there with Jen. If there are no takers for the tickets, you can always sell them for 20 bucks at the door.

Just got back. It was a good show, the guys seemed pretty laid back and were having a good time during the 90 minute set. The venue was pretty cool with general admission standing in front and seating in the back and on the sides. The majority of the crowd was into the show and really wanted to hear the song Shittown which they got in the encore. Ed seemed a bit tired to me, but it was voice was excellent and he and the rest of the band performed great the entire night. Only negative for me was the setlist for the night included Simple Creed, Iris, and Love Shines, but none were played.

Setlist

All Over You
Waittress
The River
Pillar Of Davidson
The Dolphin's Cry
They Stood Up for Love(mixed with a song called "Everything's gonna be all right)
Selling the Drama
I Walk the Line
Wings
Run to the Water
I Alone (Ed whispered the lyrics to the first verse, which made the chorus much more powerful, also the jam session during the songs was very cool)
Heaven

Encore

Sofia
Lakini's Juice
Shittown
Lightning Crashes

OK, wait a minute...Simple Creed, Iris, and Love Shines were in the original set list but got cut???

I'm not sure I've ever heard anything so depressing...

On a brighter note, good "GRACEY" yell last night...I was quite proud of us smile.gif

Also enjoyed the enthusiastic response to the TBD chant we had going!! You can always dream, right??

I was at the show too. Without question a more laid back vibe then the Baltimore gig on Friday, and the set list choices weren't as good in my opinion. But tough to control that........I still dug the show and the easy access to great standing room spots close to the stage. All in all a great double shot of shows for the weekend.

As an aside, I'm mildly disappointed that 15-16 song / 85-90 minute sets are now the norm for Live after being spoiled with longer sets in the say 19-22 song range back in 2006 when they were touring heavily for SFBM. It obviously hinders them digging deeper into their catalog. Maybe alot of it's due to Ed's voice breaking down towards the end of the tour and they no longer want to push it? Thoughts?

I think Ed was straining his voice big-time with the longer sets. With a full tour schedule already set for this year, I think they need to pace themselves to protect from burnout. I also agree with the laid back vibe at this show. It didn't feel like a major event, more like jamming out in front of some friends at home. It was very cool.

I guess, but it'll piss me off if they start breaking out longer sets for the European or west coast shows.

Maybe the Paradiso shows will get longer sets because of the DVD filming. Otherwise it will be 90 minutes or less for the remainder of 2008(unless they play Australia).

Simple Creed in DC & POD in PA?!!! A little changing up of the setlist!!!! Progress.

I would have rather gone to this show. I could of done without the moshing and the crowd surfing at the DC show. I got kicked in the head and cheek by crowd surfers. You couldn't enjoy the show because you had to keep looking back so a crowd surfer wouldn't fall on you or make sure they didn't kick you in the head. I was praying for slow songs. Imagine if they played White, Discussion??!! The moshers were pushing everyone so we were packed like sardines!!! My bracelet got caught on someones hair and broke and got stomped on!!! Way too much pot smoking, I think I got a contact high!! You had to wait an hour in one line to get tickets to wait in another line for hour to get the beer. NEVER again will I go to a DC101 concert!!!! aggressive.gif

They started off with Simple Creed, they played Waitress, Wings, I Alone, Lightning Crashes, Lakini's Juice, Dolphins Cry, All Over You, Walk The Line etc.....aside from Simple Creed they played the generic setlist, nothing new.
