Recently this board has been very VERY boring... I figure I need to, in honor of Hoodie, make an opinion thread:

What do you think is the best Live song title and which do you think is the worst?

In the world of song titles, Live is certainly average. For me, cool song titles are something like...


The Frayed Ends of Sanity ~ Metallica
Bring Your Daughter to the Slaughter ~ Iron Maiden
Disasterpiece ~ Slipknot
Several Species of Small Furry Animals Gathered Together in a Cave and Grooving with a Pict ~ Pink Floyd

Lame examples from other bands include:

Untitled ~ Any band that does this sucks...

My nomination for worst Live song title is Love Shines (A song for my daughters about God) Eww... it still makes me sick

Live have a few good titles such as:

Feel the Quiet River Rage
The Dam at Otter Creek
Gas Hed Goes West
The Beauty of Gray

....and of course a few doozies like Love Shines. I'm not a big fan of song titles with bits in brackets, to be honest. I'm also not keen on bands that have song titles like "suffocating under broken love with hearts and roses with tears of lost dreams" and some such. Makes me go UGH, which isn't fair really, as the music might be cool. Doesn't make me want to listen to it though, just makes me want to talk about it somewhere so I can add stuff to the titles such as "and then I cry like a bitch and wonder whether it's the fallen love of my heart or my tight fucking jeans that are currently destroying my bollocks".............

It's all in fun, of course. Well, mostly...

Don't be afraid to add non live songs, I liked the alternate band's songs and feel they add to the thread... and as long as you add your favourite and least favourite Live song titles too it can stay on topic!

You are correct... Transmit your Love is a pretty lame title... "Whole Again" would have been a much better title.

I don't think Love Shines is all that bad (it isn't great either), but the discription after it is indeed horrible...

That Morrissey song title is awesome! It sounds ripped straight from Bright Eyes lol

I agree fully on Love Shines... When you first read the album, you wonder if maybe it's just kidding, but it's not... ugh.

Kinda reminds me of Black Sabbath's "After Forever" It is basically the most christian song out of a normally dark and brooding band. Lyrics include:

"Could it be you're afraid of what your friends might say
If they knew you believe in God above?
They should realize before they criticize
that God is the only way to love"


Live didn't backslide as far on this one... but It's still a backslide overall when you think about OS or StD.
