Well apparently you don't. Doesn't bother me.

And no I don't have a copy but I've heard it a number of times.

Hmm, well overall I like it. Still very poppish and obviously that was on purpose. But that's not a bad thing even though I had hoped that they would get away from that. Yes it could be a lot better coming from a band like Live. Then again, they are just samples and not the complete songs. Night of nights is the best sample by far. I got chills just hearing that small clip. Where do we go from here? also sounds damn good. These songs have potential in terms of getting radio play but that's not the problem with Live. A lot of their songs have that but Live and their management or record company suffer from poor decision making. Like I'll never understand why songs like Meltdown or Like I Do were never released as singles and songs like Runaway and Run to the Water were. Don't get me wrong, these are great songs but they weren't the best choices for singles. Also, why were rocking songs like Vine Street and Don't Wait never even released. Both of these songs kick major ass and let's not forget about Deeper. This is an absolutely beautiful song and once again....NEVER RELEASED! Why not???? Anyway, from what I've heard, it's sounds like it's on the same level as BOP but just in a different direction (aside from Night of Nigthts). But if Live plays their cards right, this album could explode commercially.

Run to the Water was a great single decision IMO.

I agree on RTTW for TDTH, but BOP was an album that had much better songs than Runaway.

And I also agree on why never releasing Like I do... !?
When I heard BOP at the first time, I just knew for sure Like I do would become a single, it was such a damn good song! But no, we gotta hear that duet-shit with Shelby Lyhaforgotyourname, with a video that was Live´s worst in my opinion!

At the other hand, I didn't expect Live to release We Deal In Dreams as a single, I think that was pretty cool, it feels like they still love releasing some stuff of TC. But than again (like Blue23 says) why not releasing some other great B-sides like Lift me up, Deeper and Don't Wait!? It's still possible, release a b-side album or something, with several great singles.

I'm sorry, but IMO "The River" is pure shit. And I'm sure you want to know why, so here's the reason : man, I can make a tune like that myself...

Yeah I can't wait to hear your new single and watch you on tour. I better start saving up now....

Like I Do wasn't released because Heaven was a hit in the Hot A/C format. Alternative radio stopped playing LIVE after the Dolphin's Cry. They had to follow-up Heaven with a single in the market that was actually playing their songs. That is why the band released "The River" and next up will be "Mystery." They are finding a new audience in a new format because alternative radio changed and shunned a band that was part of its revolution in the mid-90's.

I think Live could get back into that circuit if they tried, The Dolphin's Cry isn't very alternative radio so of course it's going to get shunned, but the reason alt radio don't play Live is cos Live aren't making music fit for it, if they did then they could find their way back on there .. but, they won't .. or can't .. I dunno.

This is kinda amusing.

A couple of points; A few people were commenting that just because this album doesn't 'rock' its no reason to dismiss it. Thats fine- a lot of music I listen to doesn't 'rock'. I like music that is structured well, has emotion, and is techinically decent. (I listen to a lot of prog nowadays- some people consider it overblown and blah blah blah but if anyone wants some beautiful, subtle, intellegent prog rock give Opeth's 'Damnation' a listen). The thing is, I don't dislike this album because it doesn't rock, I dislike it because it's pure POP. NOT what I'd choose to listen to. 3 minute songs which are just verse chorus verse chorus bridge chorus end type structures. Very repetitive, and bland. And, with lyrics that I cannot relate to. This doesn't change what I feel about Lives earlier music, which obviously means something to me.

About the staying on the board even though I no longer love the band- this is one of the 3 message boards I frequent. I have been coming to fansoflive since 2000 or 2001, when I was 12 years old. Live were my favourite band at this time. Apart from the fact that a) I enjoy discussing lives old music and b) I find these discussions very entertaining from time to time, I simply don't want to stop visiting the site. I don't see why this should affect anyone anyway; it's not like I hate the band and I'm here to get off on peoples responses to my posts.

Hella.

My favorite albums of all time are Tool's Lateralus, and NIN's The Fragile.
