I can surely respect that point of view.

But my take on it is actually fairly simple. Just Imagine a better place. Maybe in his own mind he WAS already there. I've written several pieces of literature along the same lines.

In my own mind, I'm ashamed tobe part of this species. Completely fucking embarassed and disgusted. I don't feel like I belong here amongst a race bent on destroying itself. I could go on and on about it but I wouldn't want to get preachy on it.

As for Lennon never getting called on it? I think a lots has to do with the hippie generation being his main followers. The biggest part of it though is that there was nothing wrong with what the man preached. He sent out a message consisting mainly of love and peace. What's wrong with that? Isn't he as entitled to write about those things as any other writer is entitled to write about their shit? Love and peace are relevant things to be discussed and preached. If they were preached more and more to our children, the world most likely wouldn't be the crime ridden fucking shithole it is.

Some artists such as Ed K himself get belittled for preaching this very same message. I say fuck those people, don't like it, don't listen. Seems society has a problem today with people talking about these things and I find it fucking abhorrent. People are so hung up on themselves that they aren't willing to stop anymore to see anybody elses point of view. As long as you're not forcing it on anybody who cares?

I have great respect for these bible thumpers who try to spread their message. Sure it's not right when you tell some you're not interested and they persist. But I still admire their faith and values. I fucking outright admire their commitment to try and make the world a friendlier and more loving place. But with music, nobody is forcing you to listen. Each artist has every god damned fucking right to put their message out there in hopes of reaching people who care. In hope of reaching some people who need to be reached.

People are just so fucking sensitive and willing to attack somebody. And for what? Trying to spread a message of peace and love? What a great planet. People seriously make me fucking sick with their self righteous bullshit. But when it comes to those very people voicing their own opinions??? Don't anybody DARE tell THEM they can't!!! Nope...still think he shouldn't have changed the lyrics. I don't idolize John Lennon. In fact...not a big Beatles or Lennon fan. But, that song in my opinion is perfect. I think a couple Live songs are perfect too. Believe me it does not rule my day that Ed changed the lyrics but I do think it was a poor choice to throw political slogans into a perfect song.

Second - Ed wants to support Obama go for it. Doesn't effect my vote one bit. If you are dumb enough to be influenced by any celebrity to vote for a specific person you are a moron.

I just don't think he was paid any large sum just to perform. I'm sure he did it because he supports Obama and was willing to come out to voice his opinion. After all, if they were going to be dropping some cash to get an artist to come out and play at the rally, I think they would have gotten somebody a little more well known to that audience.

He perhaps got some small salary and/or re-reimbursed for expenses, but I definitely don't think the money was why he decided to do to participate in the will.i.am video or the Obama rally. He genuinely supports Obama, I'd gather, as do millions of Americans.

PHILADELPHIA - Hillary Rodham Clinton ground out a gritty victory in the Pennsylvania primary Tuesday night, defeating Barack Obama and staving off elimination in their historic race for the Democratic presidential nomination.

"Some counted me out and said to drop out," the former first lady told supporters cheering her triumph in a state where she was outspent by more than two-to-one. "But the American people don't quit. And they deserve a president who doesn't quit, either."

"Because of you, the tide is turning."

Her victory, while comfortable, set up another critical test in two weeks time in Indiana. North Carolina votes the same night, with Obama already the clear favorite in a state with a large black population.

In Pennsylvania, Clinton was winning 54 percent of the vote to 46 percent for her rival with 67 percent counted, and she hoped for significant inroads into Obama's overall lead in the competition for delegates to the Democratic National Convention.

Naaaaaah, pal. You got me wrong. Politics is all about the money. You may not be that much aware of stuff in the sphere of PR politics, but let me tell you one thing. A star (even the star of Ed, who is actually a star only to us, the true fans these days) will NEVER participate in anything socially meaningful (if it is not charity of course) if it is not paid.
