Hey, I watched those pics Dangum and Ed were linking to, but I see several shots of Ed + Chris, with Chris having a hat on (I can't open them, it says I have to register if I want to enlarge them). But on the youtube video we saw (and that was almost the whole song i guess) we saw Chris without. So can that mean that they did a little more on stage than only the song we saw?

Just details, I know, I know nod.gif

I thought Ed would be at this gig! Vegas is just too far from NJ.

Well, the article did say they performed I walk the Line... it also said it wasn't that good of a cover.

Ed and Chris Daughtry performed together twice. The YouTube video was from a Daughtry concert in Ventura, CA. In this concert Ed came on stage with the band to play Helter Skelter.

The pics that Ed and I posted were from a different show. It was a Chris Daughtry solo gig (at the Revolution Lounge) and Ed joined him to perform Helter Skelter and I Walk the Line.

I don't know how much I can believe that coming from a magazine that places The Doors and Live on their 50 worst artists in music history article.

Oh wow, you're right... Their reasoning is terrible too!

http://www.blender.com/guide/articles.aspx?id=466

Here is what they had to say about Live

These U2 sound-alikes never did find what they were looking for
Blessed with the same spiritual longing as U2 — but, sadly, none of the musical cunning — this Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, quartet made a brief but insignificant splash in the early ’90s as purveyors of grandiose, vaguely uplifting alt-rock. Although their hold on the mainstream had evaporated by the end of the decade, their blend of loud guitars and portentous lyrics helped pave the way for crypto-Christian rockers Creed. Nice one, Live.
Appalling fact The album title Secret Samadhi derives from a form of Hindu meditation.
Worst CD Secret Samadhi (MCA, 1997)

Others that made the list... Manowar, Whitesnake, Yngwie Malmsteen, Kansas, and Jefferson Starship. I do agree with them that Creed and ICP suck.

If anyone doesn't think Chad. T, Pat, Chad G., and Adam aren't awesome performers, watch this video! The Ed/Daughtry version of I Walk the Line pales in comparison to the Live version.

Nick, why don't you also compare a 73-piece orchestra to an acapello hiphop?

How can you compare an acoustic performance to a full-band studio version? sad.gif

Live's concert version of I Walk the Line is even better than the studio version. This acoustic version with Ed and Daughtry isn't close to Live's concert version. Actually, to me, it did not sound very good at all.

Dunno if this cam-source has been linked to, but it's got the best audio of all the versions I've heard yet. It comes with a downside ofcourse ... the video is tilted smile.gif
