Live 2008, what's going on, what's coming up Options

Hey all,

I'm wondering what the guys are planning for 2008.
In 2007 both the long expected DVD and a new album were mentioned. But still we got no info about it. It's taking so long... Will they spent 2008 with 'only' touring then??

Also several persons talked about the 'ultimate Live experience,' happening this year. Does that mean The Night of the Proms concerts? I find it strange not much is announced till now.

A DVD is mentioned really a 10.000 times, since somwhere early this decade, the last time was at their last show in 2007. There was something with the new album and York in april this year.
But hey, still no news... What's going on...

Wouldn't we all like to know... Instead of taking time off, Live is doing more shows. Eh, I don't have my hopes too high for an album or DVD this year. My guesses... December for the DVD and March for the Album.

-Well the rumor was that the band would be working on an album this April in York, but Ed has been performing with Daughtry and the band hits the road again late next week. Unless they began work on the album this week, I'm not sure if that rumor was at all true.

-DVD was rumored to be filmed in Paradiso, but no word yet.

-The band will be touring the US with Blues Traveler and Collective Soul this summer. That is fact. I'd like to see the band debut new material on this tour, but who knows at this point.

-The band will be in Europe for a month this fall for Night of the Proms, perfect time to work on a new album, in my opinion. Not sure if its in their plans.

-I am getting impatient for confirmation as well, hoping we hear something soon.

I'm thankful we actually have reason to suspect they will make an album. So many artists I listen to will never make another album.

I talked to drummer Chad after the show at the Joint in Vegas and he said a DVD was next on the agenda and it was going to be filmed in Europe. When I asked about a new album to guitar player Chad he kind of laughed and jokingly said something about how he keeps hearing about it. No confirmation on it.

Europe probably means Holland, I guess? That's cool, but not the bit about Chad laughing at the new album. That doesn't sound promising.

I would love some new material too but the fact that is will be another year before a new album is a good thing I believe. The last two albums they recorded fairly close to each other didnt really fair to well although I really like BOP. If it takes another to year to really put some work into an album an not throw something together in two weeks is ok with me. However, it would be really cool is they tried some new stuff over the summer on this tour!

Tht would be great if they tried some new stuff... Live has a creativity problem. V was creative and so was TC. One was creative in the wrong direction... but they were trying lol.

I would love to hear experiments with electronic sounds. Everytime I listen to Radiohead's Kid A I can't help but imagine if Live tried something like that. I mean, what do they have to lose?

Live's Rockin' days are behind them! My idea of rock is far heavier than most of what Live has done. That Dolphin's cry track got close though... where was that when they were in the studio??

Yeah it'd be nice to hear something from the band once in a whil.

Yeah, I'm really disappointed that we haven't heard any news about a new album. I can't see anything being released in 2008. Maybe 2009.

Unless they are planning to quickly release a new album or EP to limit the online leaks, because it seemed that everyone had a copy of SFBM before it was officially released in the states. Doubtful, but possible.

Does anyone know if the band did any recording this past April in PA as was previously rumored? Does anyone besides Ezzy Wokka know anything?
