Any one going to this show? So glad they're playing Sonar again - one of the best venues in Baltimore to see big bands in a small place!

I was at the show last nite at Sonar in Baltimore (my 48th) and enjoyed the hell out of it! It was also night and day compared to the (rare) subpar show Live played at this venue back in the fall of 2006. It was not soldout, but still a crowded room and a very enthusiastic throng. The band seemed engaged and into it, and the sound quality and sight lines (at least my view) were good.

I caught Live recently back in March in both DC and Jersey, and what made my night was that they made an effort to really change-up the set list. Songs played last nite that weren't played in March were Simple Creed (opener), Love Shines, Iris, Pillar of Davidson and Pain Lies By The Riverside. Iris, POD, and PLBTR are among my favorite Live tunes, so this made it a stellar show and memorable night from my perspective. They essentially replaced The River with Love Shines, which works for me. And Simple Creed is an excellent opener. I probably would prefer Rattlesnake or Otter Creek, but SC gets it done too. The show started at 10 sharp and ended at 11:30 with only one encore. I thought we were going to get another encore given how jacked up the crowd was and perhaps White Discussion, but no dice. So that's the scoop. I'm venturing to Jim Thorpe for the Sunday night gig, and can't wait.

Here's the setlist. Probably a bit out of order, but I think it's accurate. They definitely didn't play All Over You or Selling The Drama. The only thing I'm not 100% sure of is Run To The Water - I don't think they played it (sorry, it was a Friday and the beer was flowing).

Simple Creed
Waitress
Love Shines
Mirror Song
Dolphin's Cry
Walk The Line
Stood Up For Love
Lakini's Juice
Iris
Pillar of Davidson
Wings
I Alone
Heaven
Encore:
Sofia
Pain Lies By The Riverside
Lightening Crashes

What an awesome setlist. It looks like they are trying out different songs to see which they'll put on the DVD.

Very good setlist, and I'm happy with it when I'm going to see something like this in june!

Only, I think it's bad they played W,D not much anymore this year. It has always been the highlight at the end of a show!

Chazeye's review was perfect. LIVE rocked the house all night!!! yay.gif yay.gif It was great to see the guys having so much fun. The original setlist for the show was totally thrown out, all the substitutions were apparently done at the last minute. I could barely speak yesterday, it was fabulous! yahoo.gif still on a LIVE high two days later!

Can we please put the DVD talk to rest? At this point I think the rumor is actually older than the band itself.

Amen. I'm sorry - I know they're big songs and the crowd really gets into them, but they're moderately decent songs to start with. Do we really need to hear them at every show? They have 82 other songs that are so much better than those heaps. (hee hee I said "heaps")

Let's see if they keep it going tonight at Penn's Peak!

I was actually glad they gave All Over You and Selling The Drama a rest at Sonar. Just pointing out they weren't freaking played for a change. But of course they were brought pack at Penn's Peak last nite...
