Because most voters/viewers of these stupid shows are teenage girls, and they go green with envy when they see a hot chick do (or potentially do) well.

Take Australian Idol for example, last year a female with a voice that was ok but largely uninspiring won the competition. She is overweight and chubby. She got a lot of sympathy votes because one of the judges told her that she had "tuckshop arms" (ie, fat arms).

And don't even get me started on the year before. The winner, also female, was an elephant. She honestly was big enough to pack into the front row in a rugby scrum.

Didn't Dicko call her a Singing Beanbag? or was that someone else? either way it ruled haha.

Don't know much about American Idol but the way you are talking about the Special Olympics is pretty ignorant.

Typical reply from overly sensitive femmes

Actually, that guy is as good of a singer as me, and I'm pretty awful.

Are you kidding? Aren't you the one who thinks Ed's falsetto voice is godly? You probably sing like Boy George and think that's great laugh.gif

He did a good job, I just wish the judges weren't so stupid in saying he made the song his own. He copied the version from LIVE verbatum! The same thing happened a few weeks ago with the Chili Peppers. The guy has a great voice, but he isn't as creative as they think.

Also, he should have given LIVE a shout out, but thats just me.

Yeah he took all the credit for something he didn't do. I still think I Walk the Line should have been released instead of We Deal In Dreams.

UGH! "Made it his own" I can't believe he stood there without saying anything about LIVE....
What a fake...........He did an awesome job with the song, and he is truly my favorite contestant...but come on.........He should not have stood there taking all the credit for something he didn't arrange on his own.

You guys are soo right! I liked him, especially after hearing he is a live fan, (which he clearly showed by using Live's version) but now I think he's such a dick! Damn, he stood there and took the praises like he made it up when we all know he did not. C'mon give credit where it's due, F'ing plagerizing bastard!

Good to hear everyone else felt the same way I did about Chris taking credit for the song tonight. He did a good job, but it was an exact cover of the Live version. Even the first part of the first verse that Ed sings down the octave. The only difference was that Chris couldn't sing the lowest few notes.
Also, he's really predictable. The last two weeks I knew what he was going to sing before they announced it. Oh well, still my favorite on the show.

YEAH!!! I knew Chris was awesome the first time I saw him on American Idol, he even looks alot like Ed! Its nice to see someone sing good ol' Rock and Roll again!! (whats with that these days anyways?) I'm sick of all the rap and hip hop crap on TV these days...*sigh*.....anyways, And tonight when he sang Walk The Line just like Ed did on the Awake album, I about crapped my pants!! That is so AWESOME!!! He did a great job!!! Its nice to see someone give Live the credit they deserve for being the GREATEST BAND E-V-E-R!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! happy.gif
