Live is done for! Nirvana is the worst of the grunge bands but people are blind and stupid! Alice In Chains was 10x grungier than Nirvana!

Nirvana was more of a punk band anyway. They always have those contests on the stations here. Its usually the same bands who make the final 4. Around here it seems to be usually a grunge band or two, the Beastie Boys, maybe Green Day, and maybe a hot current band such as Linkin Park or something.

That would explain some things... I hate Punk Music. Punk Music is the grandpa of Emo music. My favourite tunes are blues based usually. Where did punk music come from anyways... pop? It seems like pop because it has no crazy guitar solos, no song variation, and fast screaming vocals that sound cacophonous.

Cool Idea. I've got STP over NIN tomorrow at 4.

The thing about Nirvana is they weren't that big at first. They had a decent following of burn outs when they were out but they really blew up after Kurt Cobain's suicide. That's really what escalated their fame more than anything. If it weren't for that they would just be a has been 90's band.

It's so amusing that silly shit like this reveals the contradiction in criticizing fans such as myself who prefer Live's earlier sound, by fans insisting that Live have 'evolved' and 'matured' beyond the 90's era and its time for us to let go. laugh.gif

Kurt himself said he wanted to make money after Bleach really sucked in the charts. HE was the one to throw outta SubPop, easily betraying them.

Go study.

Other than Nevermind they really made no attempt at mainstream success. In Utero was not commerically friendly and the original versions of the songs were less so. They were actually told to rewrite some of the songs to make them more commercially friendly. They made enough $ from Nevermind and I believe they probably would have only made one more album after In Utero anyway. In a way their success and legacy was supported by their short run. No chance to drag out a career and turn out questionable music, fading away. Alot of the bands from the past played on the radio today had very short recording spans. Who knows, it was more of just a case of right place, right time I guess.

I see Live and Nirvana very similar in terms of their US success in that they're main radio stability is from one solid album each. The rest of the Nirvana songs under different circumstances might not have even been played this far in the future. When you look at each band's big album the songs are very simple songs both in terms of lyrics and music. I've heard the phrase "sticks in your head like a nursery rhyme" to describe both Nervmind and TC.

Enough of that bullshit, time to drink some beers and head to the 9:30 club...............

I don't need to study. I was in high school and lived through it. They had a following but became THE cool band to listen to for a lot of people after he killed himself.

Ain't it enough? I only stated that he himself left pure grunge to make money. That is it.

Ooohhh toughness of yours just kills me. Lived through high school. bounce.gif

I only said that being so far away from US and younger (I feel?) than you and listening to the similar music, I suddenly share the FACTS, when you state your own opinion as universal truth. I find it immature. Sorry.
