I was moreseo responding to the person who said none of the songs were played till 2003.

I said I thought Like I Do was not played til 2003, but I'll take your word for it. So it looks like it was played before it was recorded or right around the time it was. As for the first thing, I'm sure that at least a demo of V was recorded before they started playing Deep Enough.

I think the cool thing about all this discussion is to realize just when these songs were recorded versus when they were released. It seems like they are typically recorded well over a year before release, which probably means that for some of their past albums, new album material was already written by the time the preceding album was released. I know that at least one TDTH song was written on the TC tour, so that's like a four year delay. Interesting stuff....keep it going!

Which song was that?

I wish I knew, but Pat mentioned it in an interview in the late 90s without revealing which one!

Yeah I'm pretty sure Like I Do and Life Marches on made setlist appearences in late 2002 ... I don't have the bootlegs anymore, but I remember something like Ed saying before the songs "are there any kids here? am i allowed to say it's really fucking good" and something like "this is the first time we've ever played this infront of people, except for last night in *insert city here* but they don't count!". Does anyone have these, im sure one or both of the Dan's do.

As for the TDTH song written in TC era, that's pretty wack, but I'm willing to bet whichever song it was it had undergone quite a few changes between the TC time and when it appeared on tdth

I doubt any shows will be added until after these March shows are completed.

Incorrect assumption. They recently added the 7/18/2008 show and Hammond, IN and hopefully are looking to add more.

To add to the concept of Live performing songs early I know that "Freaks" was recorded during the TC era and released 3 years later on SS.

TC was released in 1994. I have a 6:46 second version of Freaks performed on 10/6/94 on a bootleg CD called "Shit Town". I purchased my copy of SS the second it when on sale, right before midnight on 2/17/97 (I still have the reciept). I had heard Freaks years before the album was released.

The date in question was a Philly date. I'm pretty sure Live will not be adding any west or east coast dates until this March tour completed. If Live were to add a Philly show, it would cut into Borgata ticket sales and wouldn't make financial sense. However, a free show in Indiana has no bearing on March ticket sales.

I should have been more clear with my initial response.

ohw well okee eh.gif cool fact to know! cuz i never heard of a song from SS that was made earlier than let's say 1996.

As Ex said: indeed an interesting thing to hear which songs are made earlier than when they are actually recorded!

??? eh.gif OK, I don't understand what's up with the tone of your response. Are you just trying to be a dick?

Freaks was made way earlier than it was actually recorded for the SS album.
