La raison pour laquelle j'essaie de te parler en anglais (THE ONLY REASON IM TALKING TO YOU IN ENGLISH HERE, AND GOD KNOWS I DO MY BEST, IT'S BECAUSE YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND A DAM WORD NOT FROM YOUR COUNTRY!) c'est que tu comprend rien sinon.

Anyway, ce qu'il faut que tu comprenne ce que en gros, les américains vous êtes vraiment trop con, tellement pas ouvert sur le monde, tellement centré sur vous même...

So let's finish with this: In Quebec, my country, we don''t gives a shit about how strong is our army, our bombs, our nuclear firepower. We care about peoples, peace, cooperation. We find cure, not virus, we find way to make peace (Romeo Dallaire), not war, we find ways to change for a better world: are you?

uh oh.....you asked for it frenchman. omg.gif

I find it interesting that you make such broad generalizations about both of our countries. In your mind, every Canadian finds ways to make the world better and every American finds ways to make the world worse, I guess.

Let's talk at an individual level. I have dedicated my life and gone to considerable expense to help the lives of others. I am only 22 years old and already the medical research I have published has helped the lives of thousands of people. When I am a doctor, and now seeing patients as a student, my job is to improve the lives of others worldwide. It is truly an honorable profession and life choice.

I find it interesting that you say "we find cure, not virus." What has Quebec contributed to medical research lately? Whatever it is, I assure you that American advancements shit all over it. Do you realize how many Canadian lives alone are spared each day thanks to American research? For all the bad America does in the world, we are still the global research powerhouse and most of the scientific advancement you have up there you can thank us for.

I'd like to know what exactly you do to make the world a better place. I don't want to hear about what your country does, I want to hear what you do to make the whole world a better place. Blame the American government for polluting the world with its bullshit, but don't ever call out our citizens because there are a lot of us whose contributions far outreach what most in Canada will ever accomplish.

While I do agree that American advancements in technology and medicine are great, I have to scoff at the statement you follow it up with. For per capita, when you consider it, Canada is probably just as advanced in the realm of medicinal discovery as America is. Our scientists have made just as many, if not more important discoveries over the past couple of decades when it comes to treatments and advancements in understanding the underlying causes of certain disease processes.

As for Canadian advancement in that area? I don't think it's America we have to thank for it at all really. Canada has long been one of the world leaders in its persistence at finding cures for diseases that have none. The amount of money we spend and the effort we give collectively through fundraising and charity isn't surpassed by many per capita I don't think. What do I do to contribute to that? What I can, that's what. Or maybe I should say what I SHOULD. I donate to the heart and stroke foundation through it's lottery and through two yearly fund raisers I'm involved in. I donate once yearly to The National Institute for the Blind. We raise money for our world class Sick Childrens Hospital once yearly, last year I shaved off all my hair to raise money and donated the hair as well. I donate to World Vision monthly to help support a child in the Phillipines.

But medically? I know fuck all. That's where I depend on people like you to care enough to do what you can to make the world a better place. Truth is, I or somebody I know may need you one day. For sure we will need somebody like you. Without these people, the quality of the lives of a lot of people would be vastly different. So hopefully you continue to learn until no end. Good luck in accomplishing what it is you truly wish to accomplish. thumbsup.gif

That's where we are different: in states it's all about what YOU can do as an individual, in Quebec it's all about what we can do as a nation...

That's such a copout and it doesn't even make sense. A nation is a collection of individuals. Individuals in America have done numerous wonderful things for the world and they are American achievements more than they are individual achievements. What has Quebec done "as a nation," and when it did so, did each and every citizen in some way contribute?

I think our Province (Quebec) is more divides than ever. I don't give credit to Americans that much too, but it is hard to find what Quebec has accomplished as a nation too. The best succes was to preserve our language, but even on this topic Montreal has never been so English.

Harper did recognize the nation status, but it was only to keep the votes from the province. He will need them in the upcoming elections (probably sooner than we think).

Bush presidency will not be a famous part of the history, but in Quebec it is not our best too!

Alex

Ed is such a tool anymore. For someone who used to be pretty philosophical, it's a shame that he's been brainwashed to the extent he has. I honestly worry about the guy and think he should probably have a team of psychiatrists looking after him.

I find it interesting more than anything that in America there is so much emphisis on which celebrities are supporting which candidates .. like seriously, who gives a fuck what they think? Play your music or act your scenes or eat your males alive (oprah) and leave people to make up their own minds about who they want to vote for. Anyone who is dumb enough to go "Whoa Ed is supporting Obama, I like Ed, I better vote for Obama too" should not be allowed to vote.

I agree. They shouldn't be allowed to breathe the same air as I do neither. Nor should they be allowed to reproduce. Goes with what I was saying earlier, people are just braindead fucking zombies. Very few people who can think for themselves or who can continue to BE themselves throughout an entire lifetime.

How can Qubec even consider becoming a nation when they couldn't even support a hockey team?
