Straight from the American heartland comes the Rock On The Range festival. The show is back for its second year and it's even bigger this time around.
Presented by Right Arm Entertainment, AEG Live, and The Columbus Crew Stadium, the event has expanded to two days - May 17 and 18 - at Columbus Crew Stadium in Columbus, Ohio.
The line-up includes the reunited Stone Temple Pilots and will mark the group's first performance together in more than seven years.
Other bands on the bill include: Kid Rock, 3 Doors Down, Disturbed, Staind, Papa Roach, Seether, Serj Tankian, Flyleaf, Shinedown, Killswitch Engage, Finger Eleven, Alter Bridge, Filter, Theory of a Dead Man, Sevendust, Default, 10 Years, Bobaflex, Red, Airbourne, Black Tide, Revelation Theory, Ashes Divide, Drive A, and

Aww... What is going to happen to Guns and Roses now? Maybe this will encourage them to get really drunk one night, come into the studio, and finish Chinese Democracy ^_^

STP reuniting is music to my ears. I hope this show also includes them getting back into the studio. I could use some more songs from them for my iPod!

Stp is meh...

If somehow soundgarden got back together I would be thrilled. I always viewed the singer of STP as a volatile youth who likes to force members of bands to do what he wants.

STP is also scheduled to play in Toronto on 7/12/08.

Their tour page says "A reunion of epic proportions. Stone Temple Pilots Are Back."

Here's the link: STP Tour

They actually just reworked the entire site and they keep adding shows!

May 17, 2008 Columbus OH US Columbus Crew Stadium
May 23, 2008 Indianapolis IN US Indianapolis Motor Speedway
June 01, 2008 Mansfield MA US Tweeter Center
July 12, 2008 Toronto ON CA Downsview Park

They're also creating a new fanclub:

And here's the new band photo:

Hopefully this is the start of the path leading to a new album! rockin.gif rockin.gif

I've been on both the STP and Live message boards like a cocaine addiction. I can't stop coming back everday.

I completely freaked out when I heard about the reunion rumor in late-January. And then it all came true when STP was confirmed to play at Rock on the Range in early-February!

For any New Jerseyans or regional people here...two STP New Jersey shows were announced on the official STP site a few weeks ago but then taken down. The moderators on the STP site said that the festival coordinators weren't ready to announce them yet so they asked the STP Admin. to remove them.

-May 18th: Camden, NJ at the Susquehanna Bank Center (93.3 WMMR event)

-May 31st: Holmdel, NJ at the PNC Garden State Amphitheater (WXRK event)

I'm not surprised that besides, "Rock on the Range Festival", STP is mainly doing radio shows/festivals for the tour. Nothing too big. Let's just take it step-by-step with these guys and see how it all works out and then possibly a new album? lol.gif

I suggest you visit these two sites for the BEST STP news..
