Has anyone ever seen them in concert? I like their music but I can also see them being really dull. How much are tickets?

SJN...i've seen R.E.M a few times here in Athens, GA...which is where the group is from. Each performance that i've seen has been really good and entertaining. The band tends to get really excited! Which is a plus. But, it's also been like 4 or 5 years since I've last seen them..and things do change. The concert I plan on going to is in Atlanta on the 21st of June and tix are ranging from $150ish to $550ish a piece. I was in total shock. For some reason, the tix for the Atlanta show are not on sale yet, but hopefully soon. Hope that answers your questions!

Where did you get those prices from? As far as I know, ticket prices have not even been announced yet!

PS - R.E.M. is amazing live. Definitely one of the best live bands out there, even if you are not familiar with their entire catalog.

Ticket prices have not yet been realeased. My prices listed are from listings in my area of people trying to pre-sale tix.

Heh, hardly on topic but my favourite REM song is "Strange Currencies" I hear Dylan's "Like a rolling stone" everytime it is played...

Well, duh. Anytime a big name artist puts on a tour -- ESPECIALLY since Athens is their hometown -- there are going to be scalper trying to jack prices up way high.

I imagine that if you get tickets through ticketmaster they'll probably set you back $50-$70 each (maybe less). They probably won't be impossible to get, either.

I'm a member of R.E.M.'s fan club, which usually entitles me to get tickets before everybody else that are pretty close up. rockin.gif

The R.E.M single isn't bad at all. They are playing it on the new rock station in 101.9 station as I type. It sounds like classic REM, nothing new, but pretty cool.

I think my favorite R.E.M song is 'Country Feedback.' Just thought I'd share!

Listening to the new album now on:

So far, not really impressed. I love the new single though. Thank God for Itunes.
