I think I would like this to remember the emo roller coaster of a season and to commemorate the 75th season:

ESPN's Sal Paolantonio reports that if ex-Patriots employee Matt Walsh is in possession of the Rams' walkthrough video from Super Bowl XXXVI, coach Bill Belichick will be suspended for one season.

Apparently commissioner Roger Goodell informed Belichick, upon fining him $500,000 and stripping the Patriots of a first-round pick, that a second strike would cost him an entire year. That means Belichick's last game before 2009 could be Super Bowl XLII.

If he gets his 4th ring today plus an undefeated season, he deserves a year's vacation.

Not to say losing to the Giants wasn't disappointing because it was, but the Patriots will be at the top of the NFL heap next year. The Patriots have a high draft pick coming to them this year(#7) and a solid core of players returning and all should be fine in New England. Even if Tom Brady and Bill Bellicheck retired today, they'd still each have three rings, and that's more than most ever get.

The only positive of the night is that Tiki Barber didn't get a ring smile.gif
