Does Ed actually Support Obama though? Or was he in a video without his knowledge?

He'll have known, I guess. I checked out will.i.am's Wiki page and saw a section on the video with a list of some of the guests. One woman was listed twice, so I took one out and stuck Ed in there. lol.gif

that video made me want to donate my next five years salary to the Clinton campaign. (jk, sorta......). Someone can put a picture of Hillary up in devil horns next to that one with Obama in a halo and I would still vote for her:). I just think about all the "hope" feeling we had after 9/11, and where did that go?? People get so caught up in a rush they forget the reality of the situation, and the amount of work that goes into actually making changes. Maybe he means it and will be the change, but to me it seems like something anyone running for president could say.

I'd guess they had to get his likeness approval before using it. So whether he supports him or not, he is probably at least okay with this use.

Of course Ed knows he is in the video. He is in the video singing the lyrics and playing the guitar.

I went to Barak’s rally yesterday in Delaware. There were about 20,000 there. Most of them were faces you wouldn't ordinarily see at a political event. Young people. Minorities. African Americans from all walks of life. Young African Americans who looked like they were in the hip hop culture and black families and older people. There were people of all ages, colors and creeds. And it really made me feel hopeful that despite the things that we think separate us and divide us, that we could all come together as one people, and make the kind of change happen that our country so desperately needs. We are ALL this country. The displaced poor in New Orleans, and the inner city children without healthcare, after school care or the opportunity for a good education that can help them better themselves.

Those who say that Barak is peddling false hope and that his speeches are too eloquent for them to be backed up with any substance have digested the dose of politically motivated cynicism that Barak's opponents have served you. Hillary has had designs on the White House since before she carpet bagged her way into New York. She's a political operative with her finger in the air, following the winds of the politically expedient position of the moment. She’s beholden to everyone who has done her a favor in the last 16 years. Her idea of change is “crossing the isle and holding a bi-partisan committee”. That’s more of the same. Since when does someone need lots of experience in Washington to be able to bring about change? It is the opposite that is true. Not just a change of laws and policies, but a global change in the way so many in this country feel about their country and their leaders and the way the world views our democratic decision making and values.

Barak may not be able to fulfill all of the hopes he inspires, but I think he is the best hope for change.

It doesn’t surprise me that Ed was in that video, singing the line about change. It’s very unusual for Ed to step out and take sides and make a statement. But he must feel passionately about the hope for tomorrow that Barak can bring, as I do.

I just had to write this after watching that video. I get goosebumps when I listen to the words. It reminds me of the spirit of the Mental Jewelry album.

Here is a direct link to the video, which includes Ed in the credits:

Hey, I could be called "on the fence" between Ron Paul and Obama. I have been asking people to try to convince me but no one has been able to say anything besides "he is magic" or "he is black." Someone please send me a link that shows how he is different from hillary on the ISSUES and not just on personality. To me the dems just seem like a bunch of pro war centrists who aren't liberal enough... well... except Gravel but he is long gone. no.gif

It's not that he can't back them up or doesn't want to, but he's in Washington and he can't just say change and have it done. He's still battling the same barriers that Hillary is, and the only reason he probably doesn't have as much opposition as Hillary is because he's only been in congress 3 years. It's too easy to go in and say change, but you are battling congress, other countries, and the economy that is built around world-wide corporations/resource management that inevitably entangle themselves into the political arena and the general public's social welfare.
Change is hard to accomplish, even when there is a plan. Look at the green revolution in India, and what is trying to be done in Africa. Just because you produce more food, doesn't mean it's going to go feed the hungry--largely because of capitalism, but how do you go about changing this system??? Everything builds off something else, and to change one thing involves a series of changes in other ways. To boot, to even approach that sort of change you have to find secure backing which is hard to do with so many different opinions. I think Hillary is too knowledgeable and smart to tout false hope, but will instead attack what needs to be attacked first and I think she knows what to go for to best achieve the most change in a logical, sensible manner that will actually help produce change.

Why doesn't that surprise me? heynow.gif

I honestly don't think that most Americans have the fucking balls to put forth the effort it's going to take to make change. Too god damn busy wrapped up in their own self righteousness......just makes me laugh and wanna be sick at the same time.

I think most Americans have unconsciously realized that none of this matters, which is why voting turnout is spiraling downward. Bush didn't win either of the elections he was in, but we've been stuck with him for two terms. When the powers that be in Big Brother can so obviously rig elections, have campaigns and cabinets heavily influenced by lobbyists and basically do whatever they want, there is little incentive to care.

I think Hillary, Obama, McCain, and Romney are all completely fucked up people, because you have to be if you're a politician. And truthfully, anyone who takes this or any election seriously is wasting their time.
