I went and saw "I Am Legend" a few days ago. It is a pretty good flick, and I would recommend anyone to go and see it.

Before the movie the "Dark Knight" trailer ran. I have to say that the movie didn't look that impressive. Some people here are really hyped about it when it just looks alright.

Superbad is hilarious.

I completely agree. Real funny movie!

I saw "No country for old men" yesterday with my old man. Really good flick by the cohen brothers. If you're tired of the same old hollywood formula, which perpetuates the silly notion that good triumphs over evil and karma is a reality, then go see this movie. it certainly left an impression on me.

So, I saw "Knocked Up." I wasn't expecting much from not liking "Super Bad," but I was pleasantly surprised. And, you don't have to be a parent to appreciate the flick.

Oh yeah, I also caught "National Treasure: Book of Secrets." Not bad, a bit predictable and not as good as the first.

Cloverfield sucked ass ... like, I know what they were trying to do and they did do a good job of it. I know it was supposed to be the godzilla version of the blair witch project but meh. Too much shakey cam, way too much shakey cam ... showing the monster as much as they did at the end sucked too .. they did a good job showing glimpses but still enough through out without having that massive close up at the end .. it was almost as if the producers told them they HAD to show the monster and it was tacked on.
Massive amounts of continuity(sp?) errors too ... like I say for what it was supposed to be I liked it ... it wasn't really a movie about a monster, it was more just about what you would do in said situation .. it could easily have been a movie about a massive earthquake that hit NYC or a tidal wave or whatever.

SPOILERS AHEAD

And the bit the really fucked me off .. no one, anywhere under those circumstances would travel half way across the city under a monster attack braving all those dangers against military orders would then go and climb a 50 story building and walk across the roof of another 50 story building that's collapsed into it because you got a voicemail message pretty much saying "i may or may not live much longer" just to rescue your girl. Then when they find her she's impaled on a god damn pole, stuck to the ground, they pull her off it and she doesn't bleed, she then proceeds to run faster down the street than all the non injured and outlasts them ... still, she was fucking hot. rant over.

the market is saturated with popcorn flicks, i.e textbook hollywood trash that hits all the right beats and keeps your brain in standby mode. Youre accustomed to this kind of degenerative feel-good visual crack that when something comes along which challenges this and threatens to make you think in the theatre your brain would rather fall asleep than face that challenge. Its not your fault, its just the way it is.

you need to wean yourself off the multiplex teet and get into some world cinema. Dont get me wrong, the best movies in the world are from hollywood, but these days its very few and far between

Forgive me surrender.gif I really tried to be open to this movie. I liked the previews of it and really wanted to see it. Hell, I was the one who kicked and dragged and bribed my bf to take me to see it and not something else after Cloverfield was sold out.
And I was the one who kept telling both him and myself that dont worry its gonna pick up. It just started a little slow, thats all. That is until I started falling asleep and having him ( my bf) laughing at me angry.gif Oh, I'm no longer allowed to pick movies anymore. For that I still owe u an asskicking aggressive.gif Wambangalang
