EZY WOKKA LCD originally posted that Live's CD/DVD combo would be released in April/May 2008. Now if that was to be believed, releasing their next studio album in July would seem to be marketing nightmare.

It is also very unlikely that a CD's tracklisting would be leaked 6 months before an actual release date, especially since there has been no mention of the band working on a new studio album.

Unfortunately, this rumor is 100 percent false.

I wouldn't be so sure. People as fabulous as Ed feel like they can do whatever whenever.

i just had a cool idea for the new album. Live or their label should run a competition to see who can come up with the best design for the album cover. I saw it done for a movie a few years ago, i think it was resident evil, where the winning submission actually had their design used for a promotional one sheeter!

Basically, the website would provide us with some basic staples, such as the live logo and perhaps the album title design (whatever it may be) but we can manipulte those to whatever colour or size we wanted. Then its wherever our imaginations take us as to what else would appear on the cover. Details can be sorted out later, but i would let each person submit two different covers, and the winning entry will, at the very least, have their design used on a litmited release cd. All you need really is photoshop or any image authoring program.

This would generate plenty of interest for the new album and give us fans something to waste our energy on until the release. Its also a way of the band getting involved with one of the longest-standing fanbases around.

comon people, time to pull those connections, get in contact with the band, get the ball rolling!!! Im outta the loop

This would be a great idea for a huge band with a major fanbase, as it would give them tons of submissions to sort through.

Unfortunately, if Live were to do this, they'd probably get about 20 submissions, and chances are none of them would be what they hoped for. They would then be trapping themself into having to choose a submission that's shit because it would look terrible to cancel the whole thing for lack of talent.

So, no.

King's X already did this.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Like_Sunday

It was a pretty awesome cover but the album was treated like "V" to King's X fans. I'd prefer a live cover since they usually do a great job of covers... ignore SS and MJ... and V lol...

maybe im crazy but im seeing like an inter-band domestic unfolding here. Like Ed comes here and spills the beans about the new album, then this guy with only one post makes a remark like that, like a band member pissed off that the info has been leaked...... have you guys sought therapy?

lol rock on!!!!!

I'll say it again. It's 100% false. CopperheadLXXIX was being his usual sarcastic self and posted it to make fun of gullible people out there who would actually fall for this crap.

Jesus is damn right. I saw a tracklist and posted it up here without thinking. One actual LOOK at it later, and I'm running off into the sunset to hide myself from the shame. lol.gif

That'll teach me something or other, probably.
