He never said he could do it better than Nick. There is a difference between knowing how something should be run properly and having the time/practical knowledge to do so. The thing here is it seems someone took on the job too hastily without having either of the above.

Exactly. I don't have the time or the knowledge to run the site. But Nick doesn't either, and if I found myself in his position of buying a site I shouldn't have, I'd make more than a half assed attempt to fix it.

But, that's not really what we're talking about here. We're talking about his editing of posts on this board without leaving any notice that he's done so. More than a few times have posters written something here only to come back a few days later and have it say something completely different. That's just wrong and has nothing to do with time or technical expertise. It has to do with a control freak who runs this site.

I am offering the site to anyone who is dedicated enough to run it. I would be perfectly happy just being a moderator of the message board and part owner of fansoflive.com. When I bought the site last year, Greg assured me he'd take care of the updates and since hasn't been able to. However, if we hadn't bought the site, I do not feel the site wouldn't be in any better shape than it is now. The reason being is that I feel there not many have the time or abilities that Dan possessed to run this site effectively.

As for changing posts, I do admit that I have done so in the past. Usually it has been due to foul language or offensive content. However, I have been trying to back off on that and have apologized to members privately when I feel I've made a mistake.

I care about this site a great deal, and I want to see it run properly. I need to contact Dan and figure out a solution regardless if someone wants to take over or not.

Ok - this is ridiculous. Coming from another Live site as a long time fan, I hate seeing all of this nonsense. Its really sad how every single thread is off-topic and basically smashed with rudeness by those who can't accept change. The site will be ran by whoever has ownership. No one will know anything until the band announces details, guessing only raises hopes, most of the time false. Wishing never hurt, though.

It seems that no matter who you are or what you have to say, there always seems to be some hostilities. Fact or fiction everyone has a right to speak, but why waste time fighting?

I have left it alone until the idiots on page one brought out the tired, flawed argument of "well could you do any better?" What I won't leave alone is that our moderator changes messages for content and meaning whenever they disagree with what he thinks, and on top of that does not leave a trace of his editing! You would be quite surprised at how many of my posts have been altered by Nick without anyone else's knowledge.

As far as putting up a fight against my stupidity, I don't understand what that means. Either I'm stupid or unwilling to decipher poor communication on your part due to my having just taken some medical board exams, and considering you are the one who wrote "the site will be ran," I'd bet on the latter.

All I'm asking for is for Nick to do the best he can. He appears to be doing that somewhat with his half assed attempt to sell the site to someone who can run it, but there is simply no excuse for editing posts. Thus, he is not doing the best he can and considering he is the owner of the only remaining Live fan board around, I think he owes it to us.

I have only edited posts with excessive cursing or abuse in the past, not if I disagreed with content. I didn't edit Wam's post, I just clarified the topic header was misleading, which it clearly was. That said, I will not edit posts any longer. If a post is offensive, I will just delete, and tell the offender why I did so.

Deliberate false information isn't legitimate discussion. Saying that the band officially had broken up is how rumors start. Its hurtful to not only the fans but to the band as well.

Saying that there is in fact a concert CD coming out (for the billionth time) without any proof is also hurtful to my eyes! I'd like to take this topic behind the shed and shoot it with a shotgun unless it's on Live's official site in the News section.

Crazy1 is plenty intelligent. Grammar and spelling on a message board is a pain to check. I'm very guilty of this flaw as well.
