Don't worry, there are plenty of fans still left to make up for the "loss" of some of the hardcores. Live actually had one of their busiest tour seasons ever in 2007 where they played songs that they haven't in years. I for one am really looking forward to 2008 to see what the band has in store for those of us not stuck in the 90's.

Really? What songs did they play that hadn't been pulled out in years? (I'm genuinely interested, by the way...probably the biggest reason why I lost my love for the band is the fact that they played the same old setlist the last 4 or 5 times I saw them.)

I hope that "stuck in the 90's" jab wasn't directed at me. If you remember, I was one of the first to hear SFBM, and I actually praised it for what it was. There are other reasons to lose interest in a band besides the fact that they changed their sound.

its not a new TSUFL, but the alternate ballad. i thought everyone had it. you used to be able to get it in the mp3 section.

No, the "new TSUFL" is NOT the alternate ballad, but rather a pre-TDTH demo version of it. It has many different lyrics and is really a completely different song. I'm surprised everyone on here doesn't have it.

I don't remember where I got it from, but it's on a disc that has the full-band version of "Overcome," Ed's solo version of "Walk Into This Room" (without Neneh Cherry), and alternative versions of "Where Fishes Go," "The Distance," "Dance With You," and "Face and Ghost," among others. I'll try to post them here later today if I get the chance.

You got the CD from Dan last spring like the rest of us. I wouldn't recommend posting it, because I heard Live got wind of this sale and was furious with Dan over it.

Anyway, good to have you back I guess. This place has gone to hell but the only way to get us back on course is to get the real fans back in.

As far as the questions you asked, God Don't Never Change was an old gospel song by Blind Willie Johnson. Live's version sounds absolutely nothing like it, but it is pretty damn good. They played it a few times in place of I Walk the Line, but it soon got scrapped and IWTL was played at every date thereafter.

They also busted out TDAOC and Waitress, but only Waitress stuck around for more than a handful of shows. Mother Earth was played a few times as well, but again was scrapped for Mirror Song at most shows. They definitely pulled out more surprises than they have in a while, but it didn't take long for the setlist to go right back to the usual.

You're right about getting the CD from Dan -- I had completely forgotten about that! Thanks for the advice. I will not be posting the songs here, and I'm glad that you reminded me of that info before I did. Thanks. smile.gif

I'm anxious to hear GDNC. Do you know where I can find a copy?

I would have killed to see TDAOC live...that's sort of been my holy grail since I started going to Live shows in the late 1990's. I can't believe I missed it. I might actually have to catch the band next time they come around if there's any chance they are pulling out rarities, although the end of your post seems to be pretty pessimistic about that. sad.gif

There's only 1 recording of this track and it came from a YouTube video.
You can check it out here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dHIaxIlaus0

Were they 'furious' because it was sold or just because it was made available to the fans?

Just that it was sold, as far as I know. Either way, I wouldn't recommend posting it publicly, but by no means am I advocating keeping it under lock and key!

God dang it Exist... We were THAT close... When he listed what songs he had I was like, "He's joking, these are all the songs that whole threads have been created to find." Sigh... huh.gif

There's even more stuff on that CD that he didn't post, like Still Aroused studio for example. I'm sure he'd be willing to share the songs, as will I when I get a break from school, but it's not a very good idea to publicly post songs that the band knows have leaked and are not very happy about.

yeah, why were those songs sold anyway.

If you want to share very rare songs to some people: oke.
If you want them to keep for yourself...well...oke!

But why making money of it behind the band's back ??
