For once what LiveRocks says is accurate. What does that say about your statement now BlindMan? wink.gif

QUOTE(LiveRoCkS77 @ Oct 25 2007, 11:36 am) *

High Def television is certainly much better than the 640x480 resolution you get off of an old CRT. However, I still prefer the old CRT's over LCD televisions, high def or not. The response times are so bad on LCD sets, it's disgusting. Ever try watching a hockey or a football game on an LCD set? The ghosting and pixelization is absolutely disgusting, unwatchable to me.

Plasma is a different story though. Sets with software built in guarantee the owner protection against burn in and the response times are instantaneous. There's no viewing experience like watching an HD DVD on a 1080p plasma television. Absolutely fucking brilliant and stunning. Quite unlike anything I've ever seen before.

But anybody who can't notice the difference must be fucking blind. The color saturation on HD sets vs crts is like comparing night to day. Contrast ratios measuring as high as 20,000 to 1 on plasma HD sets give you a black a million times deeper than that of what you will ever see on any picture tube TV. LCD sets suffer with this quite a bit as Liquid Crystal still allows quite a bit of light to pass through when the set attempt to create an accurate black, creating a greyish black which in turn, throws off hue and saturation in creating all other colors accurately. This throws both the tint and sharpness off big time in LCD sets no matter how much you try to adjust them.

The Pioneer Elite television is KING. This set displays non high def broadcasts better than most sets display high definition. With non high def broadcasts being 4:3 aspect ratio, you can still physically zoom to full screen, or change via remote to 16:9 widescreen, without any skewing of the image. Most sets, when attempting this, will stretch the image big time making it irritating to the eyes. Also, believe it or not, some idiots still try to input analog signals into these high def tvs. Pioneer takes this low grade signal and upconverts it beautifully, still achieving a magnificent picture.
SO, to keep on topic? Shoot this Dvd on a high def Dvd format and those mthat have high def sets will get to have a far better experience than those viewing on CRT'S with old dinasaur like DVD players. You'll have to upgrade sooner or later!

You aren't being greedy, I really hope we hear something soon. If DVD doesn't happen this time around, it will be a huge disappointment.

Jeez, some people around here need to calm down. This is called the "fans"oflive message board for a reason. We're here not to bash the band, am I right, but to point out the positives, of which there are many? smile.gif

Well said. I just really hope we hear some news on either this DVD project, new tour dates, or a new studio album. I guess I am greedy!

Absolutely agreed, since we're fans we should all have completely positive opinions on everything the band does, we should not question any decision they make, infact lets all bash our heads together in hope our brains seep out and meld into one giant brain with which we can worship together.
Seriously, of course there are positive things the band has done, doesn't mean we can't be frustrated with other things they do, we don't live in disney land you know.

there's no need to be so sarcastic, i think
sure we can have different opinions and ofcourse me can (and maybe we must) question their musical directions etc.
the 'new' poster was commenting on a post that was only negative, and not like you say with something positive in it.
I think that's the whole problem that gets discussed over and over again:
first you get band bashers or critical posters, second the ultra fans say: hey don't bash the band!, than third: other posters (you for example) come up and say: it's ridiculous to only praise them, you must be very critical. But this last group of posters dont react on the thing that the 'ultra fans' is irritating. I'm sure many of them don't mind people are critical towards their band. But many of the critical posters (although I think this number of posters are less than they used to be) are only negative, without pointing the positive things. And that's what irritates the fans. They don't want to hear only negative from a poster. And after all this remains a FAN message board, created by Dan for FANS, people who think that, well.... at least the half of Live's work is great, else whise they won't be fans. And you've to respect that on a FAN board, deal with that. A board on which fans can discuss almost EVERYTHING, but people with only offensive or negative posts simply don't belong here.

I agree to a certain extent, people who don't belong are trolls and the like, ones that are only here to cause trouble, or know nothing about the band etc..

It's almost the same now as mentioning a gay person, everyone feels they have to add "not that I have a problem with that!" to the end of every sentence when you shouldn't have to. You should really assume that most people in this day and age feel that way without having to say it. So the same is here, it's almost where if you say something negative about the band you have to follow it up with something positive, just so everyone knows you're on the level!
But really, why? If I want to say something negative about the band, and that's pretty much most things post 2000, I shouldn't, or no one here should have to then make sure everyone hears something positive about it to balance it out.
If I thought nothing positive about the band I wouldn't be here, simple.
Also take people like McPheezy when he was around .. he really had very little positive things to say about Live in this day and age, yet he knew his shit about the band, he wasn't just someone that knew they did "that lighting song". People should just read between the lines a little, no one is going to go out and do a bunch of research on a band they don't like or never liked just so they can post negative things on the fan board.

There is a big difference between having negative opinions and not agreeing with things the band does and such to out right trolling and just causing trouble.
