Well I've always wanted a Live song to be my wedding song, and its going to be.

I'm getting married in about 5 hours...wow I can't believe it.

One of my groomsmen and good friend is a great guitar player and singer (he was the lead singer of Locrian if anyone happen to see them play at the Chameleon or elsewhere in the Lancaster/Harrisburg/Philly area). He is going to be singing "Get Ready" during the ceremony. We were going to go with "Dolphins Cry" but changed it being its a Christian wedding in a Methodist church. Just something morally we felt wasn't quite right with the meaning of the song being played in a church.

He sounds amazing, and actually I was telling my friend last night that he sounds better than Ed did doing it acoustically on "The River" single, which definitely pleases me.

Also on the back of our programs we did put in the line "Love will lead us, She will lead us" from DC, and gave credit to Ed on the program itself.

Then our first dance (wedding song) is "They Stood up for Love" the piano/acoustic version. Just such a beautiful version of that song. My soon to be wife and I got a kick out of the Hershey show when people were crowd surfing to TSUFL...it was cool seeing people doing that to our soon to be wedding song.

Well I guess its time to start getting nervous or something.......

Congrats on your wedding. You sound very excited and that's awesome.
I'm getting married in May and am terrified of big parties. I am just going to have to suck it up but it will be tough.

Dude congratz on the marriage! I hope my Future wife loves Live even more than I do!

Get Ready is so perfect, I can't think of a better song and I put real thought to it! Every line can be related to marriage somehow. I wish you guys a lifetime of happiness. smile.gif

Congratulations to you and your new wife!
I love your song choices. My husband and I run a DJ service and have had LIVE songs requested at a few weddings (not enough), but the one I thought seemed oddest was one couple requested "Horse" for their last dance at the end of the reception. Oh well, at least it was a LIVE song.
Again, Congrats and wishes for a lifetime of happiness together!

~Sue~
