Yeah, I don't know what's up with the acoustic version. There's so much background noise and really doesn't do the studio version justice. It sounds like Ed was like in the bathroom with a guitar.

The album version is full-band, and sounds MUCH better than this acoustic version. Was that acoustic version a fan or Ed singing? Didn't sound like Ed that much to me. huh.gif

You a funny man. I know ed's voice like the back of my hand and it's him.

Actually, I really wasn't trying to be funny. When I listened to it I thought it was a fan covering it (honestly).

The studio version also has a cool harmony type sound during the chorus. Like there are several people providing backup vocals in certain parts. It might just be Ed's voice layered, but it sounds quite good.

Well, it's better than that cardboard box he had crawled in when he played the Susquehanna bootleg I've got on my computer... wink.gif

Hrm maybe I'm listening to a different version then cause it doesn't sound that bad.

Alright, I caved in.

At lunch today I stopped by HMV and bought The River single. It contains The River, The River (acoustic), and Get Ready (acoustic). No background noise problems on the proper CD version of Get Ready that I can hear. The sound is fine. Sounds raw, no effects - what acoustic should be.

The problem is with the song itself - it never reaches any heights nor does it tickle any emotional senses.

Seems to me this song is gonna turn into "They stood up for love" 2 for me, also a song of which I like the acoustic version better then the album snippet I heard.

And for me, this song sounds as laid back and relaxed as it should be

Laughing out loud over the tickle post earlier... too damn funny laugh.gif
