When I came up with this topic I specifically had "Forever May Not Be Long Enough" in mind. To me that song, or any version of it, is unlistenable.

It's a close call with Flow, which is a shame since the song starts of rocking and then Ed goes into that high pitch "FLOW, FLOW, FLOW" crap. I'd actually be embarrased to showcase that song to someone who doesn't know Live if I'm trying to convert them.

Hm about Forever being close to unbearable I really canīt understand it. It is in my humble opinion one of the absolute best songs on V. I think I love it when I come to think about it.

As you said in another thread, itīs all in the eye of the beholder... V is weak compared to Liveīs best efforts. But Forever and Transmit your love are my two favorite songs off of V.

I don't care much for "Forever May Not Be Long Enough", it is distinctly different from the rest of V because it was produced separately for The Mummy Returns. For some reason "Radiant Sea" reminds me of this song. "Radiant Sea" has that kinda soundtracky vibe to it.

...I can't believe people hate Horse so much. That song is part of what made Throwing Copper such a big hit. After the apocalyptic end of the world "White, Discussion" everything fades into the chilled out and everything is ok vibe of "Horse". It works so well at the end of the album...anyway to each his own.

...Anyway, worst song.... I feel like V should have been excluded as an album to choose from, it's just too easy. V was a spectacular risk/gamble for the band that just totally failed. I remember listening the demos that the band made available on the internet and was so psyched for the final product. I listened to the album a lot that fall and it just dawned on me at some point how superficial it was.

Anyway, "OK" is a good candidate in my book, although wow, I'm trying to listen to it again and maybe "Transmit Your Love" is a better one....."bow bow everybody in the hotel, bow bow everybody in the motel"

Call Me a Fool - not only is it an abysmal track on CD, but playing it live *totally* killed the vibe at a show. I saw them play it twice (back to back nights) on the V tour and even the people around me in the front had a 'wtf?' look on their faces - I total mood killer.

I always seem to hit the skip button when Deep Enough starts to play. I hate rap.

Run Away and The River are both disgusting to me. I think mostly because they were released as singles. I was appalled that any inteliigent being could actually release either of those songs.

I agree with what people are saying about Horse. Not a good song, but not horrible neither considering it's placement on that record.

Also, Forever May Not Be Long Enough is probably the best song on V in my book. It's different and funky and kinda actually kicks ass a little. There are a lot of worse songs on that cd including the one Dan mentioned, Call me a Fool. Another song I'd be outright embarassed to let anyone hear knowing i was a Live fan.

Every single person I know who knows who Live is, was completely surprised at how bad SFBM was. That just isn't Live, sorry. They can change all they want and if some people like it, all the power to them.

My opinion is that if they don't smarten the fuck up, their livlihood is done. People aren't digging their new shit and it's no wonder why. Attendance at shows is down and SFBM didn't even sell 100,000 copies. Enough said. Number don't lie.

The whole intelligence thing, yeah seriously, it comes down to being easily pleased .. if people can hold songs like The River in the same stead as Dam at Otter Creek then you need your head checked, it's being extremely easily pleased. I guess it comes back to there being a difference between liking something and calling it a good song, it's fair enough to like The River, but to ever call it a good song is eh, for a band to be around for 15+yrs and have time to grow and develope their musical skills and song writing skills and then come out with a song that teenagers chosen on a reality TV show could have penned is just poor.

As for worst live song though, probably Home.

I suppose you have to ask if they DO hold it in the same hand as TDAOC. I for one like the song, but appreciate it's not in the same class as others.
