Radiant Sea by a hair, Beautiful Invisible really reminds me of Merica and I enjoy that song. But the refrain right before the chorus in Radiant Sea reminds me too much of the old Live that whisked me in. Both good songs that I think would be near the top of any of the last two albums in my mind, especially SFBM.

I agree. I originally voted for "Radisnt Sea", but after listening to them over and over they have both really grown on me. I think I still like "Radiant Sea" a little better it's got a heavier sound, but I would love to hear them do either one in concert. Thanks to LIVE for making the CD free to Homespun members - I think that is awesome. Of course, I did the digital download, 'cause I just couldn't wait to hear it! My son wants his own copy so we'll pick up one in Hershey tomorrow, if they had said anything about it in Dewey, I would have gotten one then. Gotta support the guys!!!!

I know what you are talking about - mcpheezy was 50 - 50 in reasonable comments. Good points and a lot of shit. Always spoke his mind ... no problem with that.

Thanks, though, for challenging my awareness of this board huh.gif ? Guess you were trying to make some point with it?

You joined in August 2006. mcpheezy was here the end of 2004 and throughout 2005 and the beginning of 2006. He's had like 5 posts since then.

You should be glad he's not here because he would tear every one of your posts apart. And say whatever you want to that, but every person on this board who was here in 2005 would know what I mean.

Actually, what Hoodstock said was right -- mcpheezy WAS half reasonable and half full of shit. I had my share of debates with him, so I can say that with authority. He would never admit it himself, but when he got backed into a corner it showed pretty clearly that he was bullshitting with a lot of his comments.

The only thing I completely disagreed with him on was when he said that the quality of music is not based on opinion. That is total bullshit. People decide whether or not they like music, and everyone is entitled to his/her own opinion.

Aside from that, he was usually blatantly honest, sometimes even downright mean, but almost always reasonable and right.

I've said this multiple times myself on this board. In fact I think you stole this quote from me, so I guess that already puts me ahead of his rambling ass.

In regards to the topic, I'm in the minority thinking that Beautiful Invisible is the better song.

I want to be clear that neither song could be a single (as is) but both songs are fine. If I were to guess Beautiful Invisible sounds like it was left off of TDTH. It sound of the era but doesn't really fit the CD. I think Radiant Sea is a cut from the V album.

Of the two, Beautiful Invisible has a unique sound, the dropping guitar riff during the verses is a sweet moment, and it's a different vibe from Live. To critique the song and make it better I would stick the refrain with "Beautiful, Invisible, Beautiful" and add a tail to the second Beautiful rather than having the second invisible. I think this would give it single potential.

I've read people complaining about the mixing of Radiant Sea and Ed's voice being to low. I don't think this was an accident. Listening carefully to it I believe it was done intentionally so the deep voice during the song would stand over Ed's voice in the backgroud. I think it was strictly an artistic decision.

Regardless, love the CD. Thanks Live. Can't wait for more new music! music.gif

How can you say you wouldn't care? You care enough about what I am saying about you to reply to me. His shit would be much more piercing.

Man I wish some more people on this board had the balls to say what they really think. Live is not as good as they used to be, and the majority of the fans just won't admit it. We can keep denying it or expecting them to release a better album, but it's NOT going to happen.

Oh and by the way I didn't steal shit from you, my friend. I don't even read your posts half the time. Way too many of them to read.

I consider this argument over. This is so stupid.

This is where you are wrong. I don't necessarily disagree with your opinion but it is not true as fact. Good music is "in the eye of the beholder". You are simply observing that Live's music is different and now not of your taste. There is no way of proving your opinion of their music being worse as fact. It's impossible.

Case in point - I can say The River is a great song. In fact I have. No matter how loud you scream or how big your font is you cannot prove to me otherwise.

By the way, I always say what I think. Right now I think you're full of shit. Why else would you still post here all of the time? Live for you is like an abusive relationship since you hate them so much now. They give you crap, you expect more of the same, but you keep coming back for more. I guess that really makes you their bitch.

I didn't say that they suck now. I said they aren't good as they used to be.

Why do I post here? Because I like Live. Do you need more of an explanation than that? Have I ever said that I don't like Live? Just because I don't like the direction they have gone the past few years doesn't mean I don't like them anymore.

Make all the assumptions about me that you want, but you are wrong.

I voted that I liked both, but I think I like Beautiful Invisible a bit more. The song is very cool and different for the band and it just has an awesome vibe to it. I hope it gets played in Hershey!

Both songs were mixed by Alain Johannes, who was involved with V. Maybe they're both outtakes from that? I dunno.
