New Live Album to be Released Tonight! 9/14 Options

Yeah - it basically means always be a little skeptical. Like I said Nick will NEVER say anything critical or bad about Live or their music so of course he's going to say the new songs are great. I've heard them; they're far from great. Think WDID level.

Radiant Sea and Beautiful Invisible are nothing like WDID. WDID was a definite Throwing Copper outtake right down to Ed's voice. These new songs are from the 1999 early 2000 era and I like them both better than WDID, even though that song is pretty cool.

I like Live's music, what can I say?

I have to say that I like Beautiful Invisible alot more than Radiant Sea. Neither of them sound anything like SFBM. Radiant Sea sounds a little like an Outtake from BoP. The chords and reverberating sound are a little like When Are They Coming Home and a little bit like Sweet Release. You have to here the song to know what I mean, it's hard to describe. It also has a mumbling voice over at the end like WDID. Beautiful Invisible starts out with a honky tonk sounding piano, sort of like Once Bitten Twice Shy by Great White (at least I think that's the song I am thinking about). I am really in love with the first lyric when Ed sings "My dear sweet woman...". It just sounds so cool.

Both songs sound under-produced, like a garage band recording. I REALLY LIKE THAT compared to the overly refined sound of the last 2 albums. This is how Live should sound. Ed's voice is really good and really different than the last 2 albums.

I've been listening to both songs all day. They are not dissapointing. I really like them.

Nah, the piano is about 30% into that song. It starts off with a little guitar, no bass and a drum beat. Great White Rocks

But those songs were unknown before we first heard about them; they're not even listed on Radioactive's list of unpublished works. They must have been recorded and not given to Radioactive, so the band would still have the rights to the songs. Which makes you wonder how much else there could possibly be locked away.

That list of unpublished works on the Radioactive website is just bizarre, like they're taunting Live to release them. (That list still almost looks "fannish")

Anyway, I would bet that Radioactive would "own" the recordings of any songs that they paid studio time for, so if these are old pre-BOP studio outtakes, they're probably from one of the guy's home studios.

It would be nice if there had been a breakdown of where all the recordings on this "rarities" album came from.

Radiant Sea reads nowhere near anything near what SFBM'S lyrics do. The first song kida does a little I guess. I'll wait and see what the sound is more importantly.
