My husband and stepdaughter are both going with me and I'll have a couple of seats next to Debbie. I ended up having a couple extra tix all in the orch area so let me know if someone decides to go at the last minute. Come on everybody, show some LIVE love in NY. Deb, what's the update on the weather?

hi there,

i think i just sent you an email too about the single ticket. i think i finally decided i have to go to the show tonight, since i have tomorrow off from work--a voyage from Connecticut won't be so terrible. let me know if you still have the single seat.

Thanks!!

According to a review on Friendsoflive, Ed was struggling with his voice in Conn. last night. I hope he's okay for the show and rest of the tour.

The show was amazing. Ed had no voice issues that I could see and the energy the band put forth was stellar. There were sound issues that really annoyed Ed during the first 5 songs, but I couldn't tell what was wrong with my non-musical ear. I actually never saw Ed as angry as I did at the beginning of this concert.

I brought two Live virgins to this concert and they had an amazing time. Personal favorites from the newbies were: Where Do We Go from Here and I Walk the Line. Also, the female in my group loved Ed taking his shirt off for those keeping score.

It was really confusing to get to the venue, but the place was really nice once I found it. The crowd was enthusiatic for Live and the band in turn put on a great performance. Ed also thanked us all sticking it out in the rain to see the band. There were a lot of people at the show and it was nice to see such a big crowd for Live.

Setlist:

1) All Over You
2) The River
3) Selling The Drama
4) Mirror Song
4) Where Do We Go From Here?
5) They Stood Up For Love
6) I Walk The Line [Johnny Cash]
7) Wings
8) The Dolphin's Cry
9) Sofia
10) I Alone
11) Heaven
12) Lakini's Juice

Encore:

13) Beauty of Gray
14) Shittown
15) Pain Lies on the Riverside
16) Lightning Crashes

Funny you mention that. I witnessed the same thing at the NYC show a few months back. It was during Selling the Drama. Ed was his normal, smiling self to the crowd, but every 30 seconds he would VICIOUSLY gesture to his sound guy to fix something.

I'm sure it can be very frustrating as a performer when something's off, so I didn't hold it against Ed at all. It was just amusing to see his "blissfull" face towards the crowd, contrasted with his murderous gestures towards this poor sound guy.

At the time I was thinking....finally some real ANGER. hah...

I think because I Walk the Line goes over better with the crowd. They also tend to play only one cover per show.

I noticed at times that something was off cause his vocals through the speakers sounded funny. I was at the Nokia Show in June too and saw the very same thing.

I was one of many who stood in front when the reserved seating show turned out to be more of a General Admin show. Was it the same for CS?I didn't go down to my seats cause I got there late.Never again will I go see a show in Nowheresville by myself. I had a horrible experience trying to get back to my hotel. However it was worth it when I was able to get closer pics then I ever have had before.Great show once again and hearing Pain Lies On The Riverside again was the high point. I noticed the abscense of Dance With You Iris and Mystery. Wish I was going to the Lakewood show.

I swear, every time I go to a Live concert they have sound issues for the first few minutes. You think they would find some new guys and solve the problem eh.gif .

Yeah, you'd think that they would iron out most of the problems during soundcheck.

16 songs is a bit short for a headliner as well...

Well, I'm back in LA and can finally get to a computer. The concert was awesome. Yes, it rained during CS and if you stood in front you couldn't hear Ed R vocals so I decided to stay back on row 3 for LIVE. I was so surprised when they played PLOTR and I thought the best song of the night was Sophia. I only got to meet one person on the soy board and looked for Nick and Debbie but missed them. Can't wait for New Orleans.
