So please, everyone who has an opinion, please let it be heard here.

With Live releasing a new -Live- Live DVD/album in the near future, what do you think will be on it? What songs, extras, unreleased, unheard, documentaries, little guitar picks signed by Ed and crew and any other things you can think of will be included? What do you wish they would include?

Also, what do you think the new studio album will sound like? Who do you think will produce it, who do you want to produce it? How do you think they will callaborate on it? What new direction will be taken with it, and how do you think it will do?

I'll start by saying that I hope in the Live DVD we don't see Ed take off his shirt, that's all I'm looking for. laugh.gif

Let's hear what you guys think!

Yeah, I should've added that I was joking. Hopefully people don't take that the wrong way. The way I figure it, there's been to much bickering on this site as of late. We all need to heed the words of Ed and come together because:
"date of birth, geography
the color of my skin, ideology
you've got ten fingers, two legs, one nose
like me
just like me"

nice quote from Brothers Unaware. I just read "you are the world" which we all know inspired MJ and Ed's whole approach to his music.

There is a sense of urgency in the earlier work that clearly shows a guy who is out to save the world as corny as it sounds, and a guy who is angry about the state of the world, or more precicely, the state of the human being. While it is great to see Ed expressing his joy and his discovery of "truth" if you will, in his newer work, there is so much to be angry about now. The world is in as much chaos as ever, nothing has changed, people havent changed, and this must affect even someone as 'complete' as ed.

Yes ed, we know there is much beauty in the world, and we are grateful for the joyful music of late, but the world is in such a state of shit, there are so many of us who cannot connect entirely with your peaceful state, we need help. Get angry. This is the world your children are going to grow up in. Get passionate about anger, because after all, we are all anger, we are all violence, we are the world.

Hey, good post man.

I just think that the relevance thing that EX and many others have mentioned is what is pertinent here. I think what you said is great Wam, people can find peace all they want, but the world is still going to shit. Write what is relevant. Some of what he's writing may be relevant towards his views of finding peace, but what about the other side of it? What about what's relevant toward the rest of the world achieving the same state.

Personally, I've learned to accept a lot of things about the state of the world, as I'm sure we all have. But it hasn't stopped me from wondering what "the answer" is, it hasn't stopped the questions from coming one after another.

As for my kids? Fuck, don't even get into that with me. I've gone through stages where I feel so sorry for them in the grander scheme of things, that I force myself not to think about it. Feel like I've brought them into something I never wanted them to see. There's just so much about this place that I don't want them to ever have to learn....and it pisses me right the fuck off that I have no choice but to teach them. So many things....But yeah, I'd love to hear some more of the searching and questioning when it comes to Ed writing songs. I think the brilliance is still there, it just needs to stop being forced.
