Gotta love the sarcastic shithead who can't count.

Yeah right little BOY. I can write more explaining what a coward you are if you like....

Dude I didn't even read a word in your response. I saw the 10,000 word essay and just laughed.

Well said. I would also be very very sad to find that the band didn't get joy out of their music anymore, but I can't believe that is the case. It would make the whole enterprise a lot less valuable IMO. I don't think that is the case, though.

I've never been in a band, but I used to be a dancer and I played in marching band and orchestra. I know from experience that having a routine and a set pattern for performance doesn't necessarily take away from the magic of the music or the emotion behind the moment in dance. Ed often looks sincere to me, and if he's not, then he is really good at faking sincerity. I'm sure it's not completely sincere every show, but I think he puts in a decent effort. smile.gif

I do not truly believe the guys have lost the joy, either.

I meant that the only way I would mind the routine actions is IF...

They're human and so is the audience, so it's understandable that not every show becomes magical.

Can you guys please stop saying crap like "Ed can do whatever he wants, he is the performer." It's a stupid blanket statment that insults everyone intelligence.

OF COURSE he can do whatever he wants, that's not the point. We can still discuss, as fans, what would make the show stronger, better.

Seems to me that there are people on this board who "get it." Ed's on-stage antics have become lame, and sometimes even detrimental to the energy in the room. We're all for craziness, but this isn't the raw craziness that once captivated us. We still like the band and we still go to shows, but can't help but wonder sometimes what the hell happened. We just can't bring ourselves to fall in love with a performance of "Lakini's Juice" when the singer is flaunting his waxed chest and fondling himself.

Others don't get it, and you may not ever get it. You guys love every single thing Ed does. I think more power to you. I'm happy you're enjoying the shows. But I think you guys are delusional. Of all the songs in Live's catalogue, you pick songs like "Wings" to quote in your signature. You justify Ed by saying things like, "well Ed is hot, and I'd flaunt my body too if I were him." And I think that's the saddest response you can get, and it speaks volumes. We're not talking about Nick Lachey. We're taking about a band that grew up idolizing U2, R.E.M., and Dylan.

I don't think there's any point in convincing you people that don't "get it" already.

BUT there are enough people, fans, non-fans, critics, who are saying the same things I am about Live, that you CAN'T call us wrong.

I get your point, I don't have to agree with it!!! WTF is wrong with the song "Wings" I think it's a great song and I can relate to the lyrics. You don't know me, don't judge, I'm keeping an open mind to everyone elses opinions even if I don't agree!!!! I think Ed is Hot and that's my opinion.
I could care less what the f*ck is rehearsed. If you don't like it, no one is holding a gun to your head and making you go to the concerts. Stop being a baby!!!

The bottom line is that there are fans who don't care if LIVE has resorted to cheesy, rehearsed on-stage behavior and there are fans who do. You really can't put it any better than BURG did above.

Responses like crazy1's just show how the fan base has gone to hell. OBVIOUSLY we know that we don't have to go to shows, but we would still LIKE TO BE ABLE TO GO and not see this crap from our favorite band. Is it really that hard to understand?

And yeah, Wings? Are you fucking kidding me? Seriously, the worst thing about Live's crappy work lately is that it attracted fans like you. I never would have dreamed that one day LIVE "fans" would be coming on here to reply with "Ed's hot....stop being a baby!!!, I love Wings and I can relate to it!!!" Gimme a break uhoh.gif

Actually, it's responses like yours that show how the fanbase has gone to hell.

Please explain. And please don't include more references to your other favorite bands who pretend to give oral sex to the mic to turn on pre-teens.

Well, I'm glad to see that there is some excitement on this board rather than having to skim over Hoodstock's abundance of threads. As for this topic, I don't really care about the fact Ed takes his shirt off. If he enjoys fondling himself, so be it. However, if the audiences energy is deflated from his performance, then I would have a problem. The last Live concert I went to, everybody seemed to love his shirtless body and the music was top notch, so no problemo.

Even though I don't go to many Live concerts (Hardly ever play in California), I do notice the same routine over and over again in bootlegs and concerts. Same set list.... etc. As I was browsing through bootlegheaven, I came across a set list that had Vine Street, Still Aroused, Dont Wait, Freaks, ...other rare songs. Why the fuck don't they play those songs anymore? 10 times better than their new stuff.

EDIT: I found the set list again: Pure Source, 1998 Summer Sounds Festival. Live played Where Fishes Go, Still Aroused, Sun, Sparkle, Face and Ghost, Vine Street, Freaks, Meltdown, Dont Wait, and then their hits. Damn, I wish I was there.

Oh no your picking on me, I'm gonna cry. I've been a fan of LIVE since you were in diapers, I bet and I can like any song I want. Wings is very inspiring in my opinion. You don't know me and what I went through in my life, Wings helps me keep my head up. If I believed that Ed's behavior on stage was bothering EVERYONE, not just a few fans then I would be in favor of him changing it then. But till then....all I hear is blah, blah, blah

thank you!

I haven't been a fan of Live as long as you have, crazy1, but I've been through a lot of crap these last few years. Songs like "Wings" and "You Are Not Alone" are VERY inspiring to me and others in my situation.

Also, even if they're not the best Live songs ever, they're still a million times better than ANYTHING that's currently popular.

Live hadn't even formed under any name while I was in diapers. Also, it's not just a few fans, it's the majority from what I've seen.

And desert....Still Aroused mediocre? Please. The studio version kills.
