Don't worry about Liverocks. I think it's pretty obvious from his posts in this thread that he's gay, from his bringing up homophobia repeatedly to his suspect comments about the work Ed has done to his body. I still think Ed looks like a bitch....although he is toned, I bet he couldn't bench more than 150 pounds once. And seriously, what kind of man fucking waxes? Honestly the more I think about it, Ed is probably gay.

The point here isn't that we feel uncomfortable watching this, or that we feel gay ourselves, it's that our favorite band, what used to be the total anti-pop band, is up there trying foolishly and desperately to look cool. LIVE had the music world by the balls in the mid 90s, and they went and released Secret Samadhi. Do you think they gave a fuck what anyone thought back then? They were doing it for themselves and it was awesome.

Now, they are doing it for others. They do the same exact stuff night after night and there is no other explanation for it other than they think the crowd likes it. And that's bullshit. I don't know how long you all have been LIVE fans, but that's not the way it used to be. I'm all for on stage energy and getting the crowd involved, but isn't there a less scripted and desperate way to do it?

P.S. For everyone saying Ed is hot, please reveal your age. You know how 60 year old women go to Rolling Stones concerts these days and think Mick Jagger is hot, despite his horrid appearance? That's how you guys come across to those a decade or three younger...

I'm closer to 35 than 34 ... and proud of it! thumbsup.gif

Ed is sexy ... even in the not-so-sexy MJ years! Actually, all the guys are pretty hot! And I'll be one of those 60 year old women, right up front, as long as the guys are still on tour! rockin.gif

That's all fine by me, but it should put things in perspective a bit. There are still people who love Mick Jagger, but the masses have to be wondering what the fuck he's doing.

I don't care if Ed does what he does, and I'm as straight of a guy as they come.

I belong to a fanbase of a band whose lead singer not only has his shirt off the whole show, but fondles himself and simulates oral sex with his mic.

we call it fanservice. a lot of frontmen do it to please the pre-pubescent fangirls.

You missed my point. You guys in your 30's (let's hear an exact age, please) who have to change your panties after seeing Ed without a shirt, to young people look the same way the 60 year olds worshipping Mick Jagger's skin and bones look to you. To young people, Ed looks like a fool who is about as uncool as you can get.

Is this seriously what Live fans have become? Oh, it's OK that Ed does it because some other jackleg performer does it to turn on pre-teen girls. Awesome. Do you consider yourself a man or at least a non-sex offender? This is the biggest reason why Ed's antics are not OK...they attract fans like you.

Seriously, if I go to a rock concert I'm there to hear the music. It's never bothered me at all. Bands can do what they want on stage, it's part of the performance. People expecting a politically correct fine little show should watch a local band perfomring in front of the community courthouse on Friday night at 6.

People always gripe about Ed saying "Get the fuck up" during Lakini's Juice because they brought their kids or complain about him mentioning the war. He is a rocker. Go see Justin Timberlake if you don't want that kind of stuff.

If bands do stuff you don't like just stay at home and listen to the CD. Ed always takes off his shirt, the crowd gives a small reaction, and the show goes on. It's really indifferent. If you think about it I guess it's better than watching him try to rock in a soak'in wet sweaty ass shirt. Either way though, it doesn't matter.

By the way:

Again, at least understand what we're saying before you make a counterargument. I'm certainly not offended by his taking his shirt off because I'm a prude, but because it's just uncool to do what he does. He can say fuck all he wants, he can burn flags or do whatever he wants to do, just as long as it's not a part of a scripted act that is put together for the sole purpose of trying to look cool. He's embarrassing himself and that's not what I want to see when I'm paying to see LIVE.

Maybe you should understand my statement. There is no counter argument with you. What I said was not about you at all. I said my perspective on the topic and then simply agreed with you saying Liverocks is gay.

So, relax!

My intention for this topic was simply to see what people's general opinions were on the matter. I agree that there's not much more to disect once everyone's weighed in.

LiveROCKs, something tells me you masturbate to your own posts.

So it's not cool because YOU say it's not cool?? If it's not what you want when you pay to see LIVE than keep your skinny little douche 250 pound wimpy bench pressing ass home.

And hey, maybe I am gay deep down, who knows? But if I am, this gay boy has been out bench pressing your weak ass for over 15 years pal.

You guys are really showing what pieces of shit you are by using somebody possibly being gay as an insult. That says a lot about you doesn't it. Gay haters? Wanna beat up on somebody because of their sexual orientation? Well, I cetainly am gay then. I live in Toronto, so next time you're here, drop me a line. I'll give you ample chance to come beat up on a gay boy. When I'm done with you, be prepared to bend over and take it like a bitch!! happy.gif happy.gif

see i dont know about that. If they were/are doing it for themselves then why not just stay in their garage? why get a record deal so that the whole world can listen to it? If a band says "we dont give a fuck about what people think, then why not keep the music to yourself?

then again, why not make money off it if you can

I guess, but the music they made is what they wanted to make. I honestly have a hard time believing that SFBM is the music they truly wanted to make....I think it was a ploy to get signed with Sony.
