I found this article on SOY, here is an snippet:

Next on the agenda for Live is, in fact, a live album. They're also eyeing a spring 2008 release date for their next studio album, though nothing has been recorded yet.

If true, I'm sure it will be delayed, but cool news anyway.

yeah I agree, new music is good. But I thought the thing Nick quoted was about a +live+ LIVE cd (concert) instead of a DVD (video).

But as I understand correctly from the second article...they want to release some stuff from several shows...and shows in witch 2 never released songs were released.
Hmm, "Beautiful Invisible" and "Radiant Sea" have never been played at a concert, do they? eh.gif

anyhoo, they are workin on releasing something and that's great thumbsup.gif

FUCK YEAH

I interpret that as meaning Beautiful Invisible and Radiant Sea will be included in studio version, and the rest of the album will be live concert recordings of other outtakes...

Yeah, they don't own the rights to those old songs anymore. They could buy them back, but it'd be a lot of money and time that probably isn't worth it financially. However, they can release concert recordings of the songs and I think that's what they're doing. Or at least so the article implies.

Interestingly, a lot of you might remember 7 years ago there was some serious talk coming from Live about a live album in fall of 2000. Of course, nothing ever came of this. But, I have reason to believe that the project was in some stage of production, and not a complete pipe dream. At the time, there was a record store in the mall here in Thunder Bay called "AVE Entertainment". I was pretty fucking hardcore back then with my Live fanaticism, so I did a little digging. I found out this much about the canned project:

Title: Live
Release: November 21st, 2000
Barcode (CD): 0 08811 23602 1
Barcode (Cassette): 0 08811 23604 5

Good to see there talk again about getting a concert album. As for the Spring 2008 date for album 8, I'm cool with that. I need to save my cash for the rest of this year so I can go to the Woodford Folk Festival in Australia. smile.gif
