Relevant to me is that Ed uses his voice in a Mental Jewelry-ish way in this song. Play it and listen with your eyes closed. Some screaming. Some vocal distortion. Some passion. It's deep. No falsetto. Not that "I'm going to sing beautiful to the heavens" sound from the last few albums. I like that.

Existentialist -- you gotta spill everything now, or just stop posting "things you've heard" because suggesting that "Live will post a few songs online soon" warrants more than a few flippant discussion board posts. Who, what, when where did you hear this? Let's go. We need to read it.

...and the reply on Fishouttawater's question for the source of this would never come... no.gif

the fact that they would all contribute to the new material, is just unlikely, Existentialist.

Maybe in the very far future Chad T will write some riffs or something, but it is a long time ago that all the four memebers worked at 1 song. So why would they now suddenly?

Something smells fishy to me here.

But, if this is true, that would rock!

Why does the quote say "And mostly collaborations from the four of US"? When in a previous post it says "mostly collaborations from the FOUR OF THEM." Tiny detail I know, but when you misquote yourself like that it makes people wonder...

Something smells fishy to me here. Either someone is playing with us or you are one of the band members (But I doubt that).

But, if this is true, that would rock!

I was asked to eliminate certain comments from this thread. It turns out a member of our message board was overzealous with their reporting. If I touched your post at all I do apologize. I was too tired to edit Liverocks cursing, but at least it was done in a semi-tasteful manner this time. Sorry again!

Semi tasteful??? OK there buddy!! Whatever you say!!! There's nothing wrong with using the f bomb to drive a passionate point across. Trying to censor everything in every context is idiotic to say the least.

Whose comments were you asked to eliminate and who asked you to eliminate them? You think this Ex guy is a joker? Who do you know close to the band who knows any better? Nobody i suspect.

So how come it doesn't say they were edited by you then? Says they were edited by him, so you're probably him then aren't you.

Why did you edit your own posts for? What reason do have for doing that, or for saying anything in the first place?

QUOTE(LiveRoCkS77 @ Jul 16 2007, 5:30 pm) *

Well, I think that I'd just love to see the band read this thread. That song blew me away. That shit is exactly what LIVE needs. Play your instruments and use your god given talent. Let it all hang the fuck out and jam. Step it up on the lyrics and heavier on the instrumentation. GET PAT INVOLVED AGAIN. Lets hear some solos where the whole band just goes at it and feeds off each other.

SFBM and BOP didn't work. SFBM sold what? Not even 50 thousand copies? I understand it wasn't promoted well but that wouldn't have meant much even if it had. People are disheartened that this once thriving ROCK band has resorted to playing 3 minute pop songs with weak guitar work and no bass. That's not the LIVE that the rock fan masses know and love.

I personally know at least 20 people who think TC was one of the best rock records ever made. RAW sounding and anthemic. That music was proud and had something to say, it told a story. It had some great guitar work and spots of lyrical genius.

It has nothing to do with making TC 2. I just want to hear some MUSIC from these guys and not pop music that is structured and predictable. I want to hear some of the soothing sounds of TDTH and some of the rock from TC again. I want to hear well written and heartfelt lyrics of MJ. I want to hear some of the musical experimentation present in SS, some of the bass from PLOTR and TBD. Some of the work from Gracey in songs like White Discussion.

I know that a lot of 90's bands have lost a lot of fans, it's understndable. But LIVE still has a lot of those fans hiding in the closet. Waiting for LIVE to burst out with something that just wings it. They are capable of it, I know they are. You hear some of their extended versions of I Alone in concert for example and the musicianship is pretty fucking good. They've got some of the blues in them and I love that!! I want to hear more of Taylors influence in that regard, mixed with some driving rock.

This bands creativity in creating their cover of I Walk the Line, shows that they still have it to the extreme. They turned that song into something that straight up fucking rocks and turned is the key. The short bursts of instrumentation in that song are genius and could have been moreso had they extended them a bit.

That is my point to this band. Extend yourselves, let your imaginations fly just like you did with this song. Fuck the 3 minute pop songs, it's not working for you..nobody wants to hear them. You tried it, it didn't work, now move on. Although I didn't particularly like it, I admire that you tried that direction. But it's beating a dead horse now. I'm seeing even old school, LONG TIME fans leaving you now. Fans that have stuck by everything you've done. But fact is, the most loyal fan base you have is starting to split and leave.

Bring them back. More importantly, bring back the band that the whole world loved at one point. Bring back the music we adore and bring your music back into relevance. Not to achieve stardom necessarily, but to bring more love into the lives of people that need it. The people whose lives you changed with your music, people who yearn to hear more of it from you guys.

Manufacture your music according to what is deep inside of all of you as talented musicians. Let your soul burn and leave it all on a record. I want the LIVE back that opened my eyes to not only better music, but a brighter and more compassionate way of thinking.

FFS can you stop posting stuff that I actually agree with, it's doing my head in man tongue.gif

I would just love the band to be writing AS a band again, I'm just lovin' the bass in this track, I agree that Pat needs to stop hiding in the shadows, when he's on fire it just makes you wanna groove.

I've accepted i'm never gonna hear anything ground breaking from Live again .. I mean not that they ever were but the first time I heard W,D or LJ and such my jaw dropped. and Birds from Black Mountain just didn't cut it so if Live just wanna jam and play some real funky tunes I can deal with that!
