QUOTE(tswart1 @ Jun 26 2007, 8:46 am) *

I know someone from wwe said he called over the weekend and said he couldnt make it up since his family was really sick. "they were spitting up blood."

The man must have snapped. The funny thing is he was one of the most liked guys backstage. Its all very sad.

There are rumblings now that Nancy may have killed the kid and Benoit snapped and killed her then himself .. but really who the fuck knows, it's way too early to speculate on anything, i mean an autopsy hasn't even been done, but the police say they've found "the instrument of death" which is fucking creepy, either way something really bad went down in that house .. they were all found in different rooms so obviously murder at some degree.

If it's ruled that Benoit did it then he is a fucking cunt and his memory forever tarnished, amazing wrestler but to do that to your family is just the act of a monster .. but did Benoit ever come across like that? there was never a bad thing said about him backstage, never a trouble maker, a family man ... the like above the other school of thought is was it Nancy ... I guess the order of death will go a long way to proving things .. the two longest dead bodies.

Then what if something comes right out of the blue and it was someone not of the three, what if Nancy or Chris got involved with the wrong people over ... whatever and the family were paid a visit .. jesus who knows.

Police confirmed this morning to ABC that this is in fact a double homicde/suicide investigation.

Also revealed were the following gruesome facts:

All 3 were found in seperate rooms. Time of death places benoit murdering Nancy first Saturday night. He then murdered his son sometime Sunday morning. Then almost 24 hours later, he commits suicide. Benoit's body was found in his personal weight room.

It is speculated that Benoit killed Nancy in the heat of an argument, possibly about her leaving him with their son. Then, as his son wakes the next morning, Chris decides to kill him as well.

What happened in the hours in between the deaths and his suicide is not known, but it is known that Benoit never left the house during this time. He stayed in there with their corpses for almost 24 hours before finally making the decision to kill himself rather than face prosecution.

Sources inside WWE told ABC that Saturday night, Benoit sounded calm on the phone, and really only described his situation as a "family emergency". Benoit, who was supposed to win the ECW belt that Sunday at the PPV, turned the belt down and said something along the lines of "I don't want it, give it to someone else". And WWE did just that. Johnny Nitro, who took benoit's place in the ring, got the belt Benoit was supposed to get.

Several major news media outlets outright refused to even look at this story at first, believing it was indeed another hoax like McMahon's death. However, with TMZ.com, ABC, and CNN covering it now, this story has broke wide open. There are plans this week for coverage of this case on CNN's nancy Grace.

Autopsy results are due later today.

More as this breaks.

Good riddance to Chris Benoit

It's just utterly disgusting .. but something just doesn't seem right though, was he on drugs? I mean it's no excuse, it's not trying to make excuses .. but I have trouble believing Benoit was always a monster, something must have just snapped inside of him .. it's well known steroid useage can lead to extremely violent outbursts - has anyone read the short book that Dianna Hart put together? The stories she tells about The British Bulldog are just frightening .. but then again at that time around 98/99 it was well documented that the Bulldog was in trouble emotionally .. there has been nothing but praise and good words about Benoit all his career ... so why this? why now?

Again I'm not trying to make excuses, but I'd imagine Benoit extremely frustrated with his work as of late .. for a man who wrestled the way he did and was as good as he did, WWE screwed him over .. he left the WCW for the very reasons that WWE has become .. but he didn't have much alternative this time .. again not making excuses but trying to come up with reasons for why he could have snapped .. and for someone with so much passion for the business to watch WWE turn into the soap opera it has become must have been frustrating..

In the end though, this has just tarnished what should have been one of the most celebrated careers of all time, he might not have been the big name that Hogan, Austin or Rock were but the pure wrestling ability he had was incredible, his match with Angle at Wrestlemania x7 where they go toe to toe in a freestyle wrestling bout where he can hold his own with a legit olympic gold medalist is amazing .. and yet this is how it all ends, double murder-suicide, way to fuck the whole thing up.

Apparently WWE has pulled all Chris Benoit merchandice from their website, even the WM XX DVD lists the title match as "Triple H defends the WWE title against Shawn Michaels" .. obviously they are sickend by this as well.
And yet the people who knew him best like Chavo, Edge and Helms weep for him like it just wasn't meant to be like Eddie or Owen .. so obviously like I mentioned before, he wasn't always a monster.

But I just read on CNN now he apparently strangled Nancy then smothered his Son and hung himself .. heh at least he had the decency to snuff himself out after that.

So yeah, just wow..

Here's a link to the story on Yahoo news:

I'm not a huge fan of wrestling, I just found the story to be very tragic and disgusting.

I mean, killing your wife is something right fucked up beyond recognition, as is killing anyone. But your own son?

unfortunately we hear stories like this fairly often (at least where i come from)

i assume murdering his wife was a crime of passion, which is understandable, it happens a lot. It is when the overflow of emotions subsides that the enormity of the situation hits you. What have I done? What will my son think? Will this damage him forever?

With so many thoughts racing through his head, i can at least recognise why he did what he did, as completely wrong as it is, but for him it was a way to spare his son the heartache of what happened.

Remember this is after he just murdered his wife (assuming it was a crime of passion) he didnt want to kill her and was in hell because of it, so it is not unfathomable how he came to the conclusion he did.

tragic

The thing is it's not rage .. he didn't lash out at her and then freak out going "what have I done??" I mean im sure those thoughts went through his head .. but he tied her up and then suffocated her.

It's so weird that of all the people in the wrestling business this happens to it's Benoit, he's the one who's character was pretty much built on respect ...

I assume soon Benoit will be like Randy Savage or Sammartino(sp?) (obviously those two did nothing to deserve the treatment) but he will be swept under the rug and only ever mentioned briefly in passing and nothing more even though he had a large impact with the company .. such a shame because he was a sure fire hall of famer and was destined to be remembered as one of the true greats, not just because he was at the top of the game in "sports entertainment" but if he wanted to he could have taken his skills to a shoot fight situation and made an impact.

ATLANTA (AP) -- Investigators are looking into who altered pro wrestler Chris Benoit's Wikipedia entry to mention his wife's death hours before authorities discovered the bodies of the couple and their 7-year-old son.

Benoit's Wikipedia entry was altered early Monday to say that the wrestler had missed a match two days earlier because of his wife's death.

A Wikipedia official, Cary Bass, said Thursday that the entry was made by someone using an Internet protocol address registered in Stamford, Connecticut, where World Wrestling Entertainment is based.

I work closely with victims of domestic violence and their families. The pain, confusion, anger and sense of loss the victims experience is tragic.

From the outside looking in, it is often hard to believe some one who appears to be so nice, kind and well-liked can turn, snap, if you will, into a "monster" who takes the lives of those he/she loves. Often the signs, symptoms of the under lying violence are masked, only seen to those who are live with the batterer.

Until we see domestic violence for what it is, a cyclical disease, such as alcoholism, tragedies such as this will happen again and again. tear.gif

sorry~just had to add my preverbial two cents.
