I'm going to the Frederick MD show unless a CS/Live only show happens closer to home before then.

I think Collective Soul is alright. Haven't seen them in a bit an am looking forward to it.

But just from listening to their cd's, Live rocks way way wayyyyyy fucking harder. For LIVE'S first four CD'S, LIVE was far superior creatively.

Collective Soul doesn't have one song that even comes close to rocking as hard as Lakini's Juice, White Discussion or I Alone.....Stage, Iris. Not one song where the basslines are as wicked as in TBD, Heropsychodreamer or Pain Lies On The Riverside. Not a song written as well as Peace Is Now, Lightning Crashes, They Stood Up For Love or Run To The Water(well, maybe not this one, but I love it still)

Also, as much as I dislike SFBM? All of it kicks ass over this new Hollywood song I heard. Well, cept The River and Get Ready because they suck some serious ass. But I'm not going to pass judgment on their new cd til it comes out and I've heard it all.

I can see people liking CS more, but anyone saying they rock as hard or harder, seriously needs to stop smoking crack whilst injecting themselves with heroin whilst they are hopped up on valium, AFTER smoking 30 marijuana joints and huffing glue for a good hour prior to that.

I don't think anyone has said that CS rocks harder than Live. Well at least I have never said that. They obviously don't, they are two very different bands.

I've loved both bands since 1994 but Live was always my favorite over the two. Collective Soul's music never moved me like Live's did and it never had as much meaning to me as far as lyrics and melodies go. I guess you could say that I just never took CS's music as seriously as I did Live's. I still don't. For me CS is more of a fun band whose music just has always made me happy and whose live show has always been a good time. I do think they put on as good of a show as Live does, at least in recent years, although their show is different from Live's. I just enjoy both bands for different reasons and just want people that are fans of both bands to see the other band with an open mind. Right now CS outranks Live by a tad bit as my favorite band for various reasons but I am still looking forward to seeing Live again.

I agree with Liverocks(except for The River and Get Ready sucking ass). The sky must be falling!

Oh and I should add that Hollywood is not exactly my idea of a great song either. It's kind of like what happened with SFBM is now happening with CS and their fans. I'm still waiting to hear the whole new cd before I judge though.

Well said.

I like CS a fair bit too but their music just doesn't have the meaning that LIVE'S does, to me. I'm also a fan of harder rocking music, which is also why I prefer LIVE. But I can see why just about anybody would feel differently.

I'm not saying everybody didn't like it I'm just saying a lot of fans seemed disappointed in it just like what seems to be happening with CS and Hollywood so far. I see a lot of the same type of comments on the CS board that we saw here after SFBM came out.

I attended the show last month and all I can say is WOW. Live really rocked the house. I'm a big fan of Wings and Mystery and the band played both to perfection.

Collective Soul was an okay opening act but I felt they were less than inspired performance-wise. I would not pay to see them headline, but I think they contributed to the bill nicely in a support role.

This is my first post, so please be kind!
