There is only one thing I enjoy about Nickleback: the passionate hatred that intelligent people feel towards them. Case in point:

http://youtube.com/watch?v=P7F3O6WYfHQ

(For those of you who don't have the ability - or stomach - to watch the 30-second video, it goes a little something like this:

Nickleback lead singer: Have we got any Nickleback fans in Portugal?

Portugal crowd: NO!!!!!!

Stunned Nickelback lead singer: Are you sure? It's up to you -- you guys want to hear some rock n' roll, or you want to go home?

Portugal crowd: Go home! (while hurling rocks at the band)

Nickelback lead singer (while being used as target practice): See ya'!
)

And that's all I have to say about that.

HAHAHAHAHAHAH!

I have to admit I kinda liked Nickelfuck at first.
I like the song Someday.
But after awhile I grew tired of them and their 3rd I mean 2nd grade lyrics.
Can all they do is rhyme stupid words?
And then that ignorant song came out about I like you when you're on your knees looking up at me and that just sealed the deal for me that they are the cheesiest most lame band ever.
And I grew up in the 80's. tongue2.gif
The rock throwing incident might not have been cool, but I did get a chuckle out of it.
Bottom line is if you like simple music you will be a fan of Nickeldick.
but that's just my two cents. shrug.gif

Hmmmmm...that's the one thing you enjoy about NB???

Holy fucking shit!! To quote you there buddy! And you're talking about simple minded people?? Sitting there like a bloody caveman enjoying a guy getting rocks thrown at his head? Were you sitting there unwashed, dressed in rags and spinning sticks against tumbleweed trying to start a fire too?

How fucking unbelieveably ignorant and hypocritical have people actually become?

You ever stop to think that people don't don't listen to their music in order to become mentally stimulated? Or does your caveman wit not allow YOUR MIND to expand that far?

Talking about intellectually challenged people and then making a post like that, holy lord mary mother jesus!!!! Gotta be the biggest oxymoron in the history of mankind for fuck sakes.

I got a copy of Quest For Fire for you here you fucking retard. I think you'll understand their language better than you do the portuguese those fucking cockwads throwing rocks were speaking.

Aww...that video must have hurt your little feelings, huh? Poor guy...you enjoy the cheesy, mindless, empty music of the worst band on the planet today, then have to watch the lead singer of the band (I won't say songwriter -- because that ain't writing) get pelted with rocks due to his stomach-churning attempt at making music.

I am very tempted to throw some insults back at you, but to be honest, I feel sorry for you. I imagine you sitting behind your computer "rocking out" to Nickleback, completely oblivious to the fact that you've been force-fed and brainwashed by the faction of the music industry that knows that shitty, simple, mindless music -- if forced onto the radio enough times -- is going to eventually attract a lot of shitty, simple, mindless people.

Yes, I enjoyed the rock-throwing video. That's not to say I enjoy seeing people having rocks hurled at them -- and, if anyone would have gotten hurt, my feelings would certainly be different -- but I am uplifted by the fact that these people, when confronted by a promoter who tried to shove crap down their throat, didn't just stand back and let themselves be taken. Instead, they took a stand and let the band and the promoter know that shit like Nickleback is not an acceptable form of "music" to them.

First off, never said I EVER enjoyed anything they've ever done.

Second, nobody ever force feeds me anything period. Common sense and an ounce of intelligence should tell you that.

It's your opinion as to what type of people their music attracts. I think it simply attracts people who like crappy music is all. It's seriously inconceiveable to me that somebody could actually make a generalization along the boundary you've outlined here.

Anybody who likes Nickelback is a simple minded idiot basically? I think you're more than smart enough to realize how utterly ridiculous that is.Most people I know hate them. But I do know a few who like them that are University educated people with IQ's as high as 140. People headed to be judges and lawyers, brilliant people. Brilliant people who just seem to have poor taste in music.

Either that, or just as I said....some people don't take music seriously and just like a catchy tune. Ever stop to think about that possibility? Or are you too narrow minded and blinded by your own opinions?

Lastly, to be quite honest, it's you I feel sorry for pal. Weren't you the guy who professed to be a psyche major some time ago? What I'm wondering is how somebody who I know is most likely quite intelligent, could be so amazingly narrow minded and judgmental.

ha thanks.

even better said (and funnier) was this guys article I found today. enjoy...

No Music To My Ears: Why Nickelback Sucks

By Phil Dotree

Every once in a while, a band comes along that makes you rethink your perception of music; the Nirvanas, the Replacements of the world, they really innovate in a way that's both engaging and unique. I'd like to go on record as saying that Nickelback somehow un-does the contributions of all of those great bands; they are bad enough to make any music fan begin to hate music.
Now, before I keep ranting, it's important to note that everyone is entitled to their opinion, and different musical tastes are part of what makes the world so interesting. That being said, anyone who enjoys the music of Nickelback is a complete and utter retard.

I first heard Nickelback's timeless hit "How You Remind Me," in high school, and I remember thinking...well, nothing, Nickelback music tends to numb thought. It was like Genesis, Bon Jovi, and Creed formed together and chose a frontman who looked like a bizzaro version of Kurt Cobain with a perm.

The first thing you'll notice when listening to a Nickelback song is that your ears have begun to bleed. That's because the singer of Nickelback, Chad Kroeger (who, it's fun to point out, has been arrested for driving drunk, though I'd tend to believe that it was a mistake since I doubt he can walk in a straight line or sound uninebriated in any circumstance), sings like a horse would sing, if someone tried to teach a horse English but then gave up after the horse learned a few basic vowels and consonants. "NEVERWHOWAAAASSSAAAAWAAAMAAAN", he exclaims, sounding as sincere as an insurance salesman. Every vowel is "a" or "o", and every rhyme is the first one-syllable word that appears in Webster's Rhyming Dictionary for 5th Grade Kids With ADD.

And if you're lucky enough to catch a glimpse of one of Nickelback's videos, you'll surely be impressed by the tight shirts and manicured Hollywood looks of everyone in the band. C'mon, this is supposed to be a rock band? Gary Glitter was more masculine and down-and-dirty than these guys.

Someone pointed out a few years ago that all Nickelback songs are the same, and yeah, they pretty much are. You can counter with, "Hey, Muddy Waters always used a basic I-IV-V progression, too," but let's get this straight: Nickelback isn't playing the blues, and they're not putting their souls into their power chords. They're a commercial band repackaging a commercial product under a slightly different circumstance in order to reap money--not artistic integrity or musical dexterity--from the same damned thing they've been doing for years.

I know that I'm not going to be able to convince every Nickelback fan of the band's supreme suckitude, but you know what? I can live with that. As long as I systematically find and incapacitate them all. Once nobody's buying the crap, believe me; it'll disappear.

I'll let you get back to your web browsing.

Luke, you still dig some of the NB stuff?

Lately I have been wondering why people hate Nickelback and Creed so much...I actually dug out pretty interesting discussion over here

People hate successful bands that appeal to the masses. Bon Jovi, for example. Not sure why this is, but it's probably for the same reason that some people boast they never watch tv or don't know what facebook is. Makes them feel unique I guess.

On the other hand:
Back in the day, Live were the recipient of some columns or reviews like this - and I mean the Live of SS and TDTH. They were too successful, I guess.

Maybe that's why shit like this article kind of annoys me. It's usually the product of music mag pontificating pseudo-knowledgeable hacks or amateur posers who only want you to like what *they* decide you should like. Which could be twee precious British bands or talentless schlock metal or country (because it's ya know, more authentic rolleyes.gif )

FTR: I'm not a huge fan of Nickleback, but I like a couple of their songs from the early days. I think Chad K makes a fool of himself often though. (Be cool dude).
I liked a few Creed songs. Not so keen on their religious leanings. Laughed and laughed when Scott Stapp got caught with his pants on the ground.

Dear God, W H Y ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?

Anytime I hear that dude sing, I shake with rage.

His fake gravel voice is bar none the most disgustingly awful noise to ever hit man kind's ears.

Talentless.

An absolute fucking moron.

All I can say is that I - like many of you - didn't think they were anything special and releasing singles that sounded all the same.

However, when I saw them in 2006, I was like: whoo, they are actually quite good on stage, live! I really didnt expected what I heard and saw back than, quite a surprise.
